Care to bet on that? You take Newt and I take Romney to win the GOP nomination. Loser never posts on here again. One of them has to win the nomination for the bet to be valid.

So is that a yes or no to the bet?
And I've said it probably 50x now, I never thought RP could win, I just believe in the message and support the message. -
romney is currently a 3:1 favorite on political betting websites vs the field so....... welp

your thread title was "when newt gingrich wins the GOP nomination." presumably, that means you THINK that gingrich will win. is that not the case?

i know you know more than me about these things.. do u have any ideas of names?? im just curious... i was actually thinking santorum when i made this thread.. other than the obv of how poorly he has been received thus far in national polls, is there any other reason why you think he wouldn't pick him? -

It's amazing how in a country with millions of people the presidential election always produces such uninspiring candidates.

tbh I havent put too much thought into the possibility of Newt winning the nom. Santorum would have some upside being from 1 of the 2 most important battleground states this go around. I'm not sure how much his own state really likes him though fwiw. I'd say Congressman Pence would be a stellar choice, but I'm not sure he'd be interested as he has his eyes set on a different office atm. Basically the ideal newt running mate would be: younger and seen as enthusiastic, stamp of approval by christian right, not a lifelong politician.

Say what you will about the current President, but hard to argue that his 2008 candidacy was uninspiring to the electorate. -

doubt playing the race card on a national level qualifies as inspiring. mesmerizing? sure. motivating? fine. but inspiring? to do what exactly? vote? that just means that their marketing gimmick worked. the marlboro man didn't exactly inspire people to smoke cigarettes. -

I didn't realize they sold black hope and change because everyone hated Bush, instead of just regular hope and change because everyone hate Bush.Originally Posted by The Alchemist

He doesn't need one. He's smart enough to make obama and biden cry just by looking at them.
