Going to Chicago next month for a baseball game with a few friends. We are looking to stay somewhat close to Cellular Field with stuff to do near and around the hotel. Budgeted for about $200/night. We are planning on getting to chicago around noonish Saturday and the game isnt till 1:10 on Sunday.

lolz, do you want to have fun or be around the cell?

Stay downtown, enjoy the city, go to South side just for the game and head back into the city for a good time.
The El will drop you off within 100 yards of the cell, no need to stay there -

Lol at going to a sox game
-
Think Rush st. is the street downtown with a bunch of younger crowd bars, can anyone confirm? Been like 3 years.
-
On the whole, rush street is tourist trap crap bars, and fruity clubs.
Wrigleyville is still gonna be good times even if the Scrubs are out of town, just make sure you don't wander too far into boys town, or the gay street gangs may take your life, and your brown cherry. -
I saw a sox vs sox game at us cellular last summer. I stayed in the best western downtown like 5 minutes drive from the stadium and like 5 min into the heart of the city. I would definitely stay closer/deeper into the city cause us cellular isnt exactly in the best neighborhood.
-
During the game it's world's largest outdoor bar, after the game the neighborhood is world's largest outdoor knife fight.
-
You don't want to stay anywhere near the cell.

also known as viagra triangle cuz all the rich milfs.

Wrigleyville is pretty fun I would suggest Stretch if u were going out in that neighborhood. Super hot waitresses and bartenders plus tons of drunk trim running around in there.
Lincoln park and bucktown have a ton of good bars to go Cortlands Garage is great. I work there so I'm a bit biased..but there's tons of bars in LP glascotts, kendalls, stanleys, etc...all of them get a good crowd of hot depaul chics. -
Kingston Mines on Halstead St. Even if you are not a big blues fan this is a guaranteed great time and when you get hungry go next door for a pretty good burrito.

Go piss on the United Center, then piss on bdubs, and then buy a lebron jersey.

Oprah's got nothing to do . . . get her to show you around.

When you make the drive from Milwaukee down to Chicago, the cops are everywhere around the border between WI/IL and tend to be hidden off to the side of the road. As mentioned, the Red Line will be your friend to get you to the Cell, there isn't anything in the area to do pre or post game, so just take it there, then take it back to the Addison stop as previously mentioned for partying purposes.
-
As others said, stay downtown, cell is garbageeeee area and you'll prolly die if you try to "have fun" around there.
-
You could save a ton of money and stay in oakbrook (20 minutes from downtown) for prolly 80 per night. The marriott on michigan ave is under 200$ per night, its right across from the Shed and there is a train station right behind the hotel. Wrigleyville will be a good time even if the cubbies are out of town.
-
Don't bother with Wrigleyville unless you wanna deal with a bunch of dbags. Stay @ the classy bars in the loop area. I'm not a huge bar guy but I def hate Wrigleyville, over crowded place full of fucking clowns.
