    A controversial pastor's conference welcoming only "white Christians" is underway in Lamar County, Ala., upsetting residents of the nearby town of Winfield in the western part of the state.

    Why do we care so much about what pastors priests and other religious types with relatively no power do?

    Never heard of them beforehand never hear from them again, doesnt affect your daily life.

    Oh look... it's the weekly "post a story about some idiot who claims to be a Christian, but really doesn't represent the vast majority of Christians and their values and beliefs, or religious people in general, and then have a fifty page thread bashing religion". Even better if the idiot also happens to be in the south, then we can denigrate and stereotype religious people AND southerners all in the same thread. Weeeeeeeee I see nothing's changed during my six month hiatus from OT :P

    I have no way of knowing that and it's not my call anyway. Do I think this pastor represents how Christians are supposed to treat their fellow man, or the principles and teachings of Jesus Christ? Not at all, which would lead me to question the sincerity of his profession of faith, and that of his followers, at this point in time.

    That's good! It could be because I haven't been around to try to educate and bring a different perspective to these discussions. I think my attempts have largely failed, but maybe one person has come away with a more open mind as a result of my sticking the big fat red target on my head :)
