  1. IMO, even though I'm biased, LBJ is playing at a completely different level than any other player in the NBA right now. Plus, the fact that the Lakers are still pretty damn good without Kobe definitely says something about his contributions to the team.
  2. kobe.
  3. cant believe this is a thread
  4. Kobe = the best player

LBJ = the most valuable player

MJ = the greatest ever (not even close)
  5. Kobe and Lebron lol
  6. i
n 2 yrs barrio maybe 3 you are gonna have to put Kobe in that discussion. I am sure barring some freak knee injury or death he will get 6 maybe 7 rings.
  7. LeBron is definitely the best at throwing powder into the air. Go with Kobe for championships (not that LBJ can't win in the future).
  8. You can't deny thought that LBJ is playing at a much higher level than anyone in the NBA currently.

prolly meant that kobe is the most skilled player (which he is), if this is the case I completely agree with him

yup. Kobe has the best all around skill set. LBJ is the most valuable player to his team, city, and the NBA...by far.
  18. i can tell who hasn't watched any NBA this year by whoever is answering "kobe"

    1. lebron's stats are better.
    2. lebron's team is better.
    3. lebron's supporting cast is worse.
    4. lebron's team already beat kobe's team twice.

Sure, LBJ is playing at a higher level than Kobe right now. Then again, LBJ also does not have a strained back, a broken finger on his shooting hand, and a fucked up ankle.

Look, the fact of the matter is(I hate when people say this phrase, but it's true here), there's not that much difference between Kobe and Lebron in terms of greatness RIGHT NOW. Kobe obv has had the better career, but Lebron has plenty of years to surpass that. Will he? Nobody on this forum or in the world has any resemblance of a clue of whether he will or not. It's a pretty lofty bar that Kobe has set though...but if anyone will reach it, it's LBJ.

1 and 3 are directly cause/effect of each other fwiw. Obv Lebron's stats will be better when he has a worse supporting cast.

Forgive me for not thinking that a game in December and/or January really means anything.

LBJ = obv MVP at the mid-way mark, but that does not mean he's the better player of the two. He's just obv more valuable to his team, given his supporting cast.

Who is averaging more assists? Pretty sure Lebron > Kobe and it's sick that this early in his career we can even have this debate. If he stays healthy (prob just jinxed him,) think of how great he will end up...

you still haven't dealt with the fact that lebron's team is better yet his supporting cast is worst. if that's the case, doesn't lebron have to be better?

and 1/3 are not directly correlated. there might be some correlation, but it certainly isn't direct. even if you just focus on the percentage stats (namely TS% and eFG%), lebron wipes the floor with kobe. better defensive rating? lebron. better offensive rating? lebron. more win shares? lebron.

can you actually even make a positive case that kobe is the best player in the league? i don't think you can. you can't appeal to team record, you can't appeal to stats, so what are you going to appeal to? last year's championship? that certainly doesn't make him better this year, and if that's the extent of your evidence, lebron wins.

I always freak when I see him hit the ground and he does that whole "Holy shit I'm dying" face, but then he gets up. Please no jinx.
  25. kobes the 5th best player in the NBA (also my fav player)

  26. dpottz ownage ITT
  27. LeBron

the cavs can not be stopped right now
  28.
  29. kobe just does everything so easy and doesnt need to dominate the ball and can just kinda pick and choose his spots to dominate, and whenever he does hes unstoppable...lebron has to dominate the ball and the game for the cavs all game every game and so he gets the better numbers cuz thats the only way the cavs can win and kobe doesnt need to put up crazy numbers night in and out for the lakers to win but if kobe wanted to he could put up numbers like 35-40ppg and 5-8 assits but he doesnt give a shit nemore about stats and just wants to win....therefore at this point in time kobe>lebron even though it is very close and maybe when its all said and done ill think lebron is better but not right now
