Maybe its just Long Island I went to Target yesterday and Walmart two days ago here is two stories.

Walmart Paint Department.

I just moved to NY so I wanted to paint the garage. Wanted something cheap so I decide on Walmart instead of Home Depot or Sherwin Williams. Anyway I go to the back were they mix the paint. I ask a worker if someone can help me over here. She said hold on and phone someone over. I waited for 15 minutes no one shows up. I go up to the lady and tell here no one showed up. So she called the manager and he said he be over in a minute. Another 15 minutes later no one shows up. Now im pissed and the only person I can find is this lady in this 250k square foot store. Finally I find someone in the elctronics and I tell him the situation. He said I think the paint guy did not show today. But he dont know for sure so he calls the manager finally he shows up and says he can mix the paint for me. I give him the color its gray. So he puts in the mix only 3 colors and its real simple mix. The shit comes out light purple. I said wow little off there huh. So I grab another gallon and he trys again. Now its a darker purple. He says I have to be honest I never mixed paint before tand I had a rough night. I said really too much drinking. He said he was up all night at a house party. Im thinking wtf here is the manager telling me he got fucked up at a house party while fucking up my paint. So I left went to williams they hooked me up.

Target Furniture

So my girl finds a table she wants its 199$ and the chairs are 129$ for a set of 2. It comes in black. I buzz the furniture department and over comes a lady to help. I explain I need this model number in black and 4 chairs and they come in a pack of two. She comes back 20 minutes later wrong chairs and 4 boxes. I tell here I only need two and they are the wrong model. She try to explain to me that its the right model when I can see the picture on the front and its a totally differnt chair. So I show here the tag and the last 5 digits are all differnt and she says oh I will be back, This time she brings the right chairs and the color says Capachino. I said I need black she says these are black. I said what color is your capachino and she says brown. So I said so these are brown then right? she says I guess so. She calls in the back and says we have two colors Espresso or Capachino.Which one do you want. Now im pissed so I said what is this star bucks can you tell the guy in the back to open them up and tell me which one is brown and which one is black. Finally they open them up the Capachino is Black and espresso is brown. How fucking retarted is this company that they cant put brown or black as a normal color.

i just came back from a target on long island and am thinkin about gettin a summer job there. also, i failed out of my first college, so after i get hired, ship it to target ?

I've always had great customer service at Target and pisspoor service at Walmart. For me, Target is by far the superior store.

I'm guessing you're joking about interning at Wal-mart, but if you're not are you interning for their management program? My old roommate didn't go to college and started at Wal-mart doing the crap jobs-stocking shelves and what not. 4 years later, after I finished college, he was the co-manager of a store making 100k+ a year.

My younger brother just graduated from college with a BBA in management and started at Wal-mart...went through the intern program during his senior year. Started as an assistant manager making about 50k a year.

I wouldn't be able to do either job, as I couldn't deal with the stupid customers or the employees. However, they don't really have much of a choice as to the brilliance of the of the workers. Most people with any education, out of high school, and any work ability won't take a stocking job or cashier job that only pays that much. They will get a job that pays more.

Regarding the low pay of Wal-mart employees, where else are these people going to get a job that pays more than this for this type of work--no where. Gas stations and convenience stores pay much less and offer no benefits. Wal-mart has a business plan that is offering a large variety of products at a very small profit margin. This plan has made them one of the largest, most profitable employeers in the world--even if they are paying lower wages. The wages are better than the people could get elsewhere, or they wouldn't work there.

End of rant, Wal-mart has much stupider workers, but I will continue to go there....

Its not dumb people at my store thats the problem its the ONES FROM OTHER COUNTRIES(dozens of them) who dont have a fucking clue how america works. we have alot of people with serious mental ills but they can still provide customer service no problem. the ones from other countries that might be bright(who knows) but barely speak english are hopeless. GL asking them where something is and getting a answer you'll understand.

fwiw, i interned between my 1st & 2nd year in my MBA program at the Walmart corp. hq in bentonville....one of the hardest MBA internships out there to land in my field. don't know if timlock is interning at corporate or in store, but you can't knock interning at walmart on face value w/o more details.

I am in Walmart and Target quite a bit and Target >>>>>>>>>>>>Wa lmart. The several Targets I go in every week are clean and the people there are nicer and more educated. Walmart on the other hand is always dirty and seems like everyone there has been in a special ed. class at one time or another.

Let me give you a run through of just one of the Walmarts I go to every week. As soon as you walk in there is a 500lb fat bitch sitting there who is not even trying to do her simple ass job of greeting people. Then you walk by the produce section and there is retard #1 who is always holding hands with her retarded lover (retard #2) while she plays with the avocados.

Walk past the frozen section and there is a uppity christian #1 who thinks working at Walmart is the greatest fucking thing ever and she loves to talk about Christ like he has a foot of cock on him.

Continue walking till you hit the snack food aisle and there is uppity christian #2 who doesn't have any teeth and probably smells like retard #1 cunt after shoving a few avacados up there. Everytime I see him he has to tell me how hard he prayed for me earlier and this makes me uncomfortable since a toothless, cunt smelling guy is thinking about me when I am not working.

Walk a little more and there is the dairy asile. This is where uppity christian #3 works. He loves to mention how I am a pervert and I better stay on the "right" path or else I'm going to hell. Every now and then when I'm having a bad day I'll bring up how bad I want to bone his older sister and he just gets upset and offers to pray for me. I tell him I rather have a piar of sister's panties but I'll take whatever he can get.

I then walk into the back room and there is retarded manger #1 who is always bitching to me about something that I have no involment with. I ignore him and continue on with my work while day dreaming of stabbing him with his own box cutter just to shit him up. I do my work quickly as possible and GTFO.

In a nearby city they had to choose between building a Wal-Mart or Target. The city residents voted on Target because they considered it "more upscale" than your average Wal-Mart. So take that for what it's worth.

Personally, I don't have a problem with either. Sure, the workers at Wal-Mart appear to be dumber, but you can't beat those prices. A couple weeks ago I had to buy a new filter for my vacuum cleaner. So I go to Target and find the one I need.... $28! Holy fuck! The vacuum industry really has us by the balls when it comes to this shit.

So I'm like, fuck that, I'm not paying $28 for a new filter. I'll keep the one I already got. What the hell does a filter in a vacuum do anyway?

So a couple days later I'm in Wal-Mart and notice the same filter for $18. Daaaaaamn!! That's like 36% off the price of the one at Target. Mother fucker I just struck me some oil!

I ended up buying four of them because I couldn't believe the deal I was getting.
