Wife's Birthday Dilemna:
Ok, sorry for hijacking this off of another thread...but my circumstances are different.
My wife turns 30 on May 27. We were married last week in Jamaica, and have a big reception on April 5th(300 people +/-) here in town....she isn't a gold digger(obv) and has done pretty well with putting up her share for the wedding/reception. I paid for the trip and rings, which totalled about 10K after all said/done. We are planning on spending about another 10K on the reception, and hope to break even after all said/done on it...wishful, maybe, but doable.(price per plate is 16$/plate...yes I know, we live in the sticks and its cheap) plus my dad is paying for all beer/wine, and my mom is covering DJ/photo, and her parents are paying for decorations...we cover food...thats it.
My ?: Do I need to make a super huge deal about this birthday? She says she only wants plane tix to see her college friends in FL(they meet once per year, last years present to her was the same), and prob. be taken out to eat(no big deal)...should i plan something else?
Extra Info: My 30th birthday is June 20(yes, she 3 weeks older than I)...does that change anything?
Edit: Really looking for a woman's perspective here...but anyone is welcome. -

^^^psssht, hidden brag post about being really good at math
oh and the plane ticket is plenty. He bangs her so hard she always comes back with a big smile on her face. -
she went to Truman State, maybe you hit it back in the day.....kidding.
-
Spending wise. I 'd say the ticket is enough.. I guess,in addition, to that you could do something small that she'd appreciate.
Don't let the wedding discount the fact that she's turning 30..Its a big deal. -
I know where Truman State is...where did she go to HS? In the KC area?

[14:38] ME: if we just got married say...last week, would you want me to do something special for your bday?
[14:40] Super Hot Wife: huh?
[14:40] Super Hot Wife: yes
[14:40] ME: k, thanks
enough said? you're being pretty dense here imo even asking this question. This is the first b-day since you've been married, overkill is WAY better than her feeling like you don't care anymore.
additionally...her b-day was May 31 and our wedding was May 20. See rest of convo..
[14:40] Her: why?
[14:40] Her: are you talking to pocket fives?
[14:40] Me: yes
[14:40] Me: lol
[14:40] Her: what's going on?
[14:41] Me: some guy just got married
[14:41] Me: being a moron...wants a woman's advice
[14:41] Me: lol
[14:42] Her: k
