I see her getting murder in the 2nd and doing 20 to life. From watching the experts talk, the state has not presented a good enough case for murder 1.
what a fucked up individual. -
Anyone have any idea why she has not been out on bail? She looks like shit with only the prison-offered make-up and no access to a decent haircut. Haven't heard any discussion of this in the extensive coverage. She is not a flight risk or danger to society, imo.
-
hey user what is your "unofficial" take on this case and how do you see it ending? you have an insight into these things I don't so your opinion interests me. I don't want to put you on the spot with legal stuff, just a guess.
I have only come around to paying attention this week. Until then I thought it was silly to pay so much attention to this one case when shit like this happens all the time.
But I have to admit, it's damn good TV. -
There's a juror who said on voir dire that she couldn't judge anyone, only God could. For some reason she was still let on the jury. No way with a juror like that they'll convict on murder one. Has to be unanimous.
I think she'll go for 2nd degree, though, after all the graphic evidence of how the girl was disposed and Casey's cold indifference. -
is that the juror #4? I heard tv lawyers talking about her but missed why she was significant.
-
Not sure. I think it's the only one they mention specifically.
-
This chick is psycho. Apparently during some break with the jury out of the room, she signaled for some young court intern to come over and talk with her to keep her company (what they are calling a flirting session). And this went on for 15 minutes.

EDIT: Let me add - Melvin Perry totally owned that kid. -
Agree with F44, killing is wrong, so the DP is wrong! As sick as some people are, I think DP is an easy way out, let these animals rot in a cage!

Interesting development I was unaware of:

Earlier in the trial, Cindy (grandmother) testified that she had googled "chloroform". While her work records said she was at work that day, she said that those records may not be accurate b/c she was salaried and therefore may have been at home doing those Google searches even though work records say otherwise.
She was then impeached with records showing she was indeed at work during those searches, as shown by computer input by her. This could possibly lead to perjury charges. (this is rare and probably won't happen).
My confusion is this: Cindy said that while she searched for chloroform, she did not search "how to make chloroform." Why would she lie halfway and not go all the way saying she did all the searches? -
I ignored this story when it broke wondering why the nation was so enthralled when things like this happen all over the place
After paying attention for the last week this shit is fascinating. The Grandfather's gf testified that he said she died in an accidental pool drowning before the body was even discovered. -
Yeah, that woman seems sketchy to me. Never trust anyone who changes her name to River Cruise. (Rainbow Sunshine is trustworthy, however).
What has me mesmerized about the case has nothing to do with the testimony or court proceedings. To me it's all about Casey's behavior and affect. Her partying while the kid was "missing", her constant weaving of lies, how she gets caught lying then spins more lies, her bratty behavior while in jail during her conversations with her parents, and her reactions/nonreactions/flirtiness in court.
She's an enigma, and that combined with her being kinda cute is just so peculiar that I can't look away. I'm a little upset she decided not to testify. -
yeah I was really looking forward to her testimony. Shame.
-
would be good tv watching but that defense lawyer will nvr work again if he had her testify:) she's def not getting death penalty. she's def a piece of shit and deserves it but i dont think the prosecution made a good enough case for it.i'm lost on the mother possibly facing 15 yrs for perjury. i mean the law is the law but it's her daughter:( i could prob steal my parents savings making them lose their house and they would 100% still lie in court to protect me:)
-
I believe she is serving time for check fraud charges.

Here we go, found it .. "Orange County Circuit Court Judge Stan Strickland found Anthony guilty on six of the charges: one count of grand theft, four counts of check forgery, and fraudulent use of personal identification."

i like how she told the cops she worked at, shit i can't remember where, but she even took the cops there and when they got there she's like, oh yea i don't work here anymore. was fired 2 years prior. wtf?!?! she is a crazy bitch IMO and it is def a strange trial to say the least. -
By the time she pleaded to that, I believe her time served covered her sentence. The article said 412 days, the time she'd already spent in jail. She's been there close to 3 years.

lol. Cause someone who intentionally drives while intoxicated knowing the dangers isn't a bad person, right? If anyone gets the death penalty THESE people should. It's something that is so preventable which makes it even more tragic and heinous when it happens. Fuck drunk drivers.

Obviously this is for the worst offenders, not talking about a drunk driver killing somebody on their way home from bar. -
Well, it's going to the jury. I say they don't come back until tomorrow night, and that they convict her on aggravated manslaughter.
Also - who should play all of the key members of this case in the Hollywood movie:
Casey Anthony
George Anthony
Cindy Anthony
Lee Anthony
Judge Perry
Jeff Ashton (prosecutor)
Linda Burdick (prosecutor)
Jose Baez (defense)
Cheney Mason (defense)
Ray Kronk (found body) -
I have not followed this case much at all, but is it wrong to say the case is something like this:
She did not report the kid missing for 31 days and neither did her family.
She has told a bunch of lies and she comes from a family of liars.
Her behavior is inappropriate and her family history is full of dysfunction and inappropriate behavior.
She probably gets convicted of something serious, but what a weird situation all the way around. -
ur an idiot

my 7 yo daughter was googling electric chair today because shes been noticing me watchin the trial and news, and she knows shes on trial for killing her daughter and is facing life in prison or death and i asked her if she should get 30 yrs or the electric chair and my daughter said "electric chair" i kinda thought she would say 30 yrs because she saw the electric chair and was like "ooh that looks scary" but she said give her the chair, and i agree w her.
but is the electric chair an option or is florida lethal injection, and if they gave the chair wouldnt it be caseys choice how to go, i mean she could say no to the chair and get injection , right?
-
Jose Baez (in closing statements): "You may think she's a liar and a slut..."
ya think? -
I think the duct tape over the mouth and the rotting smell in the car will get her 2nd degree murder. Prob get like 40-50 years with a mandatory half served
-
I believe she is found innocent. Whats the line?
