    IMHO no

    bands like the Beatles that revolutionized music DURING wars and trying times were more unique at that time

    We are in the middle of a War now and there are too many bands/acts to be distinguished as "The greatest of all time"

    The Beatles bridged generation gaps as well

    My Grandmother Loved the Beatles, My mother loved the beatles, and I love the Beatles..Hard for me to see this happening with a group today

    I am probably wrong so flame away, but this is my opinion..

    I agree with the beatles. they went from being a boy band to taking drugs and making some of the most creative music ever.

    i am a die hard "metallica is the best ever", then they made that documentary, and it made it hard not to listen to the led zepplin arguement, jimi hendrix for best guitarist

    I'm saying that nobody else will emerge from present day or the future that would be

    called "the best ever" ..

    I thought the OP was asking if a band could emerge from today or in the future and

    be given this label as the best ever.. To which I would say nay

    Reason's why The Beatles are the best band of All-time:

    #1- Discography/Sales
    #2- Cultural Icons
    #3- Re-invented themselves on several occasions/albums
    #4- Revolutionized music during an actual revolution
    #5- Violent Deaths in Band/Public Adoration
    #6- They made great music.

    I dont think the doors are that close to Zepp or the Beatles. They may have had the coolest most dramatic front man of all time but musically I dont think they have enough to challenge. Oh...imo.
