If he's been involved in criminal activity, then obviously consequences will never be the same.

Marc Cuban please give them an offer they can't refuse. Lol @ them sellin 25% but giving up zero interest in the team. What a fucking joke.
There has been speculation about Dolan buying the team. I know he did a horrible job with the Knicks, but dude will write checks like woah. I wonder how much someone would have to offer Fred Wilpon for him to give up his pride and sell. Not sure how I feel about the idea of Dolan, though. -
i kind of like the dolan idea. heard wang is interested as well

dolan might be the worst owner in pro sports...if ur a mets fan, u dont want dolan
-
Only problem with Dolan is that he will require input in every decision that is made even though he most likely doesn't know much about baseball. He will have no problem writing checks, but I like the idea of giving Alderson full responsibility to make decisions.
Wang definitely needs to buy another team, his awesome idea for the Isles was given a big GTFO.
Regardless, this 25% that they are willing to sell, is for sale with NO controlling interest. I can't fathom that any of these big sports guys would ever put up the money without any input. IMO, they will have to find some rich guy who just wants to be able to say he's part owner of the Mets with those stipulations. Shouldn't be that hard to find someone like that, but in the best interest of the team, they should bring someone in who is can help them make better decisions and fork over more money when needed. The way it sounds, they can sell the % and use that money to pay off their lawsuit and not invest any of it in the team. Blechhh

He's also an owner of a team that plays a sport with a salary cap.
Would be totally different if he could run a team without having to worry that if he signs X player he can't sign Y unless it's for 11 years so that he can pay him what he deserves to get paid w/o going over the salary cap.
I'm not saying I want Dolan, just saying owning a baseball team is a whole different game then owning a basketball team. And, the dude spends money which obviously would be a good thing for the Mets. He also sticks his nose anywhere and everywhere which is Meh. -
dolans $$ with sanderson running the team. as long as dolan stays out of it.

Dolan staying out of it is the issue. Doubt he forks over significant amounts of money without the stipulation of being able to make decisions.

How much money do you think the Wilpons would have to be offered to walk away from the franchise completely?
And, YIK, but Hockey is a salary capped sport too, so there was no need to include it :)
Reason: lol @ "sanderson" -
You're a sick fuck.

Edited By: twopairsofones Jan 29th, 2011 at 07:14 AMthe nhl salary cap didn't start until the 05-06 season(probably the best thing to happen to the rangers). dolan owned the rangers well before that.Originally Posted by tsxxx04
