When Federer's forehand is on, there's just no weapon like it in the sport
-
And the other great thing re: tennis is that these GOATs are some of the easiest people to root for - guys like Nadal, Novak, Federer are just great guys and amazingly humble for their status.

LolMurray, Sampras obv... -

Like his mom, Andy is very pretty; real soft delicate features, they're real feminine, you know. Which is, for me...because that would be a simple sort of transition. You know what I am saying? Maybe throw a little rouge on him, tuck his sack back? Think he's game? -
Andy Murray has a little streak too where he thinks he's tough...I like that in a woman
-
Fed takes his second set. Seemed like that 3rd set was much higher quality.
-
Fed looks inspired. Think he realized he probably won't have a better chance to win a major than here and he is hungry. I have always wanted to Roger to go out Sampras-style after winning a major - but if he were to win this, I wouldn't want him to retire but I have my doubts that he will win another.
-
Coming from a complete Nadal nutswinger, I'll say this: win or lose, Roger Federer is a fuckin G.
Gonna love being able to brag in 20 years that I saw him play his whole career. -
lets go federer
-
Wow - Fed 3 service games from the final - what a sick fuck
-
Looks like Roger is deep into his head. Djokovic looks like he's already lost.
-
Federer with his best chance to win another major, probably for the rest of his career.
-
WIll be nice for Fed to add another runners up at a slam to his long list of honours
-
Absolute Fed ownage. 17 majors, holy fuck. Didn't think he was going to win another with Nadal and Djoker running at full speed, but he got lucky and only had to beat one of them this time. Delpo he ain't...
Congratulations to an absolute legend on another Wimbledon title. -
I've always been a bigger Nadal fan too. Not because anything either of them did off the court, but simply because i tend to cheer for the underdog and Roger Federer was unbeatable from 2004-2007. Excluding clay, he won 11 of 12 majors in that span. That is just too fucking insane. So out of the necessity of wanting more competition I backed Nadal whenever they played. Then Nadal was clearly better and I wanted Novak to challenge him. He did, and now I hope guys like Tsonga, Del Po, and even Murray can up their games and contend for majors. As much of a treat as these past few years of tennis have been, and they have been exceptional, part of me longs for the balance of the 90s where there were a number of players that could win a given major.

Ya, but at this point you gotta want Fed to win another, last major

Meanwhile, this one isn't exactly over yet

When the fuck are these people in Tennis going to figure out how seeds work. 1/3 shouldn't meet until the finals and 4/5 should meet in the quarters

You're right, I do. But I also grew up watching Sampras and Agassi and I don't want Federer to break Sampras' record of most weeks at #1. He has every other record and I would like the 90's era to hold on to a few records. At least Agassi still has the most consecutive wins at the Aussie Open still alive. I obviously won't be disappointed if Roger does win. He is great, possibly the greatest ever and he deserves everything he gets. -
this. its really an advantage being the #2 seed in the tournament considering the top 3 are a decent amount better than the rest.
-
I definitely understand this sentiment, and again Nadal is my boy, but how fuckin badass would it be for Roger Federer in 2012 on the other side of 30 with a wife and family to storm back to #1 in the ultimate sport of youth?

Winning this one wasn't enough? 18 would be awesome but I think he'll be happy with 17 since most of us have spent the past year arguing that he wasn't gonna to get 17, or back to #1. I stand corrected. Congrats again, such an amazing accomplishment. All 3 of them have one now this year, US Open means everything.

Would be pretty fucking boring that way to have the same guys play every tournament. Plus it would be simply unfair to the 2 and 3, giving #1 the bye in every semi.
