I have a wifi connection in my apt and it's used predominantly by just me. It's a bit spotty and the speeds aren't great. I'm in playa del Carmen, Mexico (not known for outlandish internet speeds) and am assured that this is pretty much the best playa has to offer. My speed test shows 3 MBPS dl speed, and like 350kb ul speed. The wireless router is a 54mbps TP Link. I purchased an ethernet cord thinking if I connected directly to router that it would be less spotty. Flawed logic? Is this router possibly stunting the speeds?
Also, google and youtube are kicking my ass on this topic so any direction is appreciated. -
Well hard wiring is always best. Um, try it and see?

Nothing seems to show up on my laptop about any ethernet connection. I even disabled the wireless card but nothing...

Sick brag about being in playa del carmen...i despise you right now, snorkeling in xel ha sounds like a good time right about now
I got some shitty weed and some good cocaine from the market there -
haha, yeah i don't do much of either but hear the weed is shit and the coke is outlandishly priced...at least according to the spots I visited in Panama and Costa Rica.

I just feel that the signal fades in and out every now and then but only for a second. My connection isn't horrible just wasn't sure if there was a way to make it more stable.
