  1. I woke up this morning and the area behind my last tooth on the bottom is swollen and sticking up and sore. It feels like there's something there when I bite down and I think it's my wisdom tooth. I don't know much about wisdom teeth...do I have to do anything about this or just let it be? I saw some websites recommending x-rays but I don't have a dentist down at school and would have to find one.
  2. you should really go to the dentist

wisdom teeth can do a lot of damage if they aren't coming in straight, they can also become impacted and inflamed, causing you other problems like sore throats

if it is coming in fine, they will let them come in and then extract them, but if you are having problems they will need to surgically extract them... it isn't too bad, i had all 4 of mine done at 1 time and you are really only in pain for a few days

    good luck

  3. Thanks, looks like I'm gonna have to find a dentist now...

  4. yeah, who needs em.

get them the fuck outta yer mouth immed
  5. I'm 29 and still have mine. My dentist says we will keep monitoring but for now I don't have to do anything.
  6. why do they call them wisdom teeth?
  7. getting them out is painless. It was 89 when i got mine out ,They knocked my ass out. I woke up and didnt realise they had taken them out.

I tried talking to my mom and she kept laughing telling me to shut up, they had just taken your wisdom teeth out.

They give you a bunch of drugs so all is good for a few days. All tho back then i was one of those gung ho guys who didnt want to take pills so i battled the pain as much as I could.

Now as an older man I say fuck that bring on the pills.

    You're welcome
  9. immediatley eat these upon removal

  10. well, they took 4 of mine out w/o knocking me out. I was wide f'n awake as they were torn from my mouth. The local helped a little, but it was still painful. Oh and i was spitting up blood for about 5 hours after that.
  11. i got all 4 taken out a couple years ago
  12. I got all mine taken out years ago, and it was one of the most painful experiences of my life... but mainly because the gums had started attaching to the teeth or something, and the mutherfukin' dentist had forgotten to give me pain pills, so i didn't actually get them from the pharmacy until after the anesthetic had started to wear off...
  13. mine are growing in also, i can feel them and see them im getting a little worried but i think there growing in strait..who knows

  14. Last time I was at the dentist, he said there was a 25% chance (who knows where he pulled that from) that I wouldn't need to get them pulled...

    ...one time?

  15. If you have to get them yanked, get general anesthesia. You definitely want to be knocked out for this. There is a good chance that your dentist will refer you to an Oral Surgeon anyway, but you might want to start with an Oral Surgeon in the first place. If going to an Oral Surgeon is not an option, make sure the dentist that you go to is sedation certified.
  16. They are a little like a volcano in that they're are dorment mostly, but seem to erupt every now and then which can be painful for a few days. I find when I chew on something vigorously, it sets them off. I don't chew gum anymore.
