  1. Hey OT clowns I'm in Mesquite, Nevada getting ready to hit in this thing on Friday afternoon.

I feel good and hitting the ball great so I'm stoked to really smash it this week.

If anyone wants to follow, live updates are on www.longdrivers.com

    Mike Wiebe (Toronto)
  2. sounds like fun, i once hit a ball 3 miles, GL
  3. Whats your personal record pumpkin? Whats it gonna take to win/advance in ur competition?
  4. enter DW talking about his 560 yard bombs
  5. I got through the first stage of qualifying with a drive of 428 yards which is my personal best in competition. Numbers don't really mean much however as they are all relative to conditions.

Mesquite has a little wind kick up now and then but the #s are typically in the 350s earlier in the day and 370s later in the day to advance. 4 bills is usually due to a little breeze and a fairly dry grid.

  6. DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNGGGGGG

Definetly keep me updated on this. Is this competition gonna be televised?
  7. Unfortunately it doesn't air until xmas eve on ESPN - I'll do my best to keep ya posted though.

Last year they had live updates and I think a webcam as well - not sure what they'll have this year though.

  8. I never once mentioned 560.

Look at my profile, it says 340+. Anyways, I like Clayton Burger this year or however you spell his name.
  9. Do you compete Walrus?

Burger took a year off for back surgery. Hasn't looked good since but ya never know.

  10. Well at least you only have 4-Time World Champ JASON ZUBACK in your group. No problems there. Brian Coday only hits it like 375, should be easy right? LOLz.
  11. #s are relative to conditions DW - anyone who is always using them tells me they are most likely full of shit or just have an ego that needs protecting.

I'm happy with my draw even though it matters very little to me.

  12. I know all of this pumpkin. I go mute when people ask me the question, "what is your longest drive?" I dont want to answer, because if I do, I know people will either think I am lying or expect me to hit that number every day or I'l just have to lie outright and dumb it down a little bit.

Brian Coday and Jason Zuback just happen to be 2 of the most flexible guys out there that I know of. Brian beat me out for 1st place at the San Francisco Open Long Drive back in like 2000.
  13. Brian Coday is a nice guy but to my knowledge has never won anything in long drive. I can't even remember him making a finals in any tour event. (I don't know what the San Fran Open is - world qualifier?)

Zuback was a runner up in March at a tour event in Dallas - ya never know what he's gonna do.

  14. hmmm, I think I drove over 300 once, but it was downhill with a tailwind and bounced off the cart path and a sprinkler head
  15. Cart Path drives own.
  16. So the "San Fran Open" huh DW?
  17. No, actually it was the Moscow Open. Late February actually.
  18. i know you have your "followers" DW...but this is why you seem like a douche to the rest of us.

u bring something up, then totally ignore the issue when you're called out

    whateva
  19. No, I only seem like a douche to you because you are too dumb to know otherwise. I brought nothing up, and have responded to every post I can directed towards me on these boards. I refuse to ever let some lowlife punk like yourself try to disqualify true statements that I post.

Whateva.... just make sure you bet heavy on DALLAS tonight.
  20. DW has followers???
  21. the guy obv knows his long drive tournaments, and he said he had never heard of your "San Fran Open", THEN HE ASKED IF IT WAS A WORLD QUALIFIER.

of course DW doesn't see that part, but he notices EVER OTHER WORD IN EVERY OT THREAD

you never answered because you are full of shit about getting second to that other pro in your made up long drive tourney.
  22. We have a coach here where Im from that was supposed to be big shit back in the day at driving, anyone heard of Bobby Furnater??
  23. Brian won the San Fran City Long Drive in 1999
  24. who gives a shit honest?? ok, so what if dw is lying, don't read his posts..
  25. Pumpkin, i met a guy a couple of years ago in a golf shop (can't remember his name, not really important though) who did national long drive comps. He said that he has special shoes made for him (for stiffness/grip) and broke shafts all the time. He also said that his has smashed/exploded the face off of several drivers. any experience in those? just wondering if this guy was ligit.

how fast is your club head speed??
  26. Kim Jong Il to win it all.
  27. Bobby Furnater is in the Seniors division and still competing I think.

Shafts do break and club heads do crack. Sometimes the equipment is crappy and other times, enough bad swings/off center hits can stress the club head and cause it to crack.

My club head speed is aprox 140 mph. It's not super high for long drive but I don't hit a lot of "spinners" which is what happens to a lot of high speed guys. What will happen then is the ball floats due to high spin rates, hits the ground and gets very little roll.
