Would this be Illegal???? Seriously

    So I Have a large Pet snake Who is Kept in her own habitat and completley seperate from My Fiance. I recently bought my Fiance a new puppy, A very small Maltese. Well I had a friend over to play some MADDEN ( Obv way better then NCAA Series and always will be!) and he was like " Hey if The dog ever pisses you off, you could just feed her to Baby." Baby is Obv the name of the snake. To which I replied that would be Illegal. We argued about this for a lil bit and I couldn't find anything to prove my point. So I tried to do a little research on the matter and really came up empty.

    The reason I thought that this would be illegal is becuase About a month ago an elderly man in the state I live in, had a 14 year old golden retriever that had become very sick with cancer. So he being 80+ years old Did what he thought necessary and put the dog out of his misery by smashing him in the head with a hammer. He then gave him a proper burial in his backyard. Well a few hours later the dog was crying loudly and walking around the yard bleeding severly from the head and covered in dirt. Obv, the dog had just been knocked unconcious earlier and was in terrible condition. The man was then arrested and charged with felony animal cruelty and neglect.

    IMHO the fact that he was charged and arrested is insanity! I am a huge animal lover and would never dream of feeding my puppy to my snake, or any other form of animal abuse. I am simply just wondering If for some reason I made a decision to feed my $1800 Maltese puppy to my snake, would it be illegal? Also, if such act would be illegal, is it completley dependent on State for severity of punishment?

    PS: I obv don't think it was very smart for the elderly man to smash his dog in the head with a hammer, but I also understand what he was trying to do for his beloved companion, no matter how morbid. Obv this is not the guy we need filling up our county jails and precious slots in our county judicial system.

    Is this a joke? How would feeding a puppy to a snake not be considered "animal cruelty?"

    Just be glad America loves dogs not mice or your snake would starve.

    This is not a joke, I am serious. I do believe this would be very cruel and think it should be deemed a crime. So if this would be a crime, Why is not a crime for me to feed my snake rats and Rabbits? Do these animals have less RIGHTS then a puppy because they are adorable?

    Maybe it would be considered cruelty because Puppies are not a part of a normal diet for a Python. Then again I Wonder how many FROZEN rabbits and rats they would eat in the Rainforest.

    The man was 79, Maybe thats not elderly but I'm pretty sure he qualifies for the senior discount at IHOP. The dog was in ti bad of shape to live, so they euthanized the dog. This was in Oregon, you must be talking about another case of Man smashes dog with hammer.

    Yes it was in ATL last week owner says his dog posioned so he smashed it in the head with a sledgehammer and left it in a local park somebody found it took it to vet they put him back toghether and arrested old owner dog went home today with new owner

    Simple: If gf is hot then it's a bad idea. If u feed her dog to the snake she will prob get pissed and leave him, therefore depriving his penix of good secks and making this act inhumane..

    if you ever did want to feed that toy dog to your snake, id freeze it first to kill any pathogens that may be present as to not harm your snake.

    That dog vs. hammer story reminds me of my old teacher.

    He had a cat, and the cat got pregnant and had a litter of kittens. He didn't want the kittens, and didn't bother trying to give them away, so he put them in a plastic bag, and smashed them with a hammer until the whimpering stopped.
