May seem like an easy choice but only if you underestimate the psychological toll of eternal life. You can't off yourself or anything, there's no way you can die, so you are stuck living until the end of time with all the boredom/insanity/loneliness that comes with it. On the other hand you die today, not getting to fullfill any of your life goals, hopes, dreams, etc. and have to face that great unknown right now...
EDIT: lets say you stop aging right now as well. -
is that you Jacob??
-
i already plan on living forever
-
Would i want to throw my computer away and never get to use it again
or currently do what im doing and using my computer. im gonna keep my computer. -
lol @ any emo who says today.
OP can die today tho. -
It seems like the amount of torture that an inability to die could cause would be quite tragic. Inevitably, something very terrible would happen and you'd have no way to escape the problem and would probably be in excruciating discomfort or pain for quite some time.
Even with the edit, when the last human dies, your life would really be teh suck. -
Live forever. Fuck dying!
-
I think people who say "live forever" are not considering something. Over the course of an infinite amount of time, you will, eventually, have all the following things happen to you:
Go blind
Go deaf
Lose your limbs
Lose you tongue
Develop a rash
Anyone who lives forever will eventually have the world's worst itch, no way to resolve it, you cannot distract yourself with sensory information, and there's no way to ask anyone to help you. -

This is why I need the OP to elaborate. I mean, how can I have the ability to live forever but not have the ability to also avoid this kind of stuff?

why would any of that happen to you?
-
just like when you bubble a tournament. that 4 place finish instead of 3rd would suck

right ?? maybe don't even enter the tournament in the first place. -
You are assuming that people would age the same as they do in a typical lifespan. It is impossible to both live forever and continuously deteriorate as you get older.

stop thinking so hard, you'll level yourself.

Theres not very many things that would make it torture to live forever, maybe blindness or loss of certain body parts/organs. If u never suffered any permanent life changing injuries, this is an easy hypothetical.

This is such hindsight 20/20 foresight.

Ill take the chances that I get another chance to die today later. -
For each thing, there is a non-zero probability of it happening to a person during their lifetime. If a lifetime is stretched out for eternity, it is inescapable that all of them will eventually happen.
The probability of medical advances being able to fix you is not necessarily non-zero, especially if you are living after the human race goes extinct.
To put it another way, would you like to live through Sol going supernova? -

why would the human race become extinct? unless there is some natural disaster that destroys planet earth then you would die anyway. its not like pple are just gonna decide to stop reproducing.
-
same for the chances of someone never dying? we've already broken all the rules with the non-dying, I see no reason to think other things would happen to you because they are natural/happen to everyone etc
-
Well, if the scenario is "would you rather live forever, and nothing bad ever happens to you, and you remain bodily whole and invulnerable to all potentially debilitating injuries... or die today?", why even ask the fucking question? Why not just add "oh, and you are getting blown for eternity by a woman who is also eternal, and agreed to become eternal just to give you a blowjob for eternity" to choice A?
-
Common sense. If you are continuously deteriorating, death is inevitable.
-
as opposed to asking "Would you rather die today or live for eternity as a leper with no arms and can't communicate because you are blind and deaf and dumb and have a very bad itch you can't scratch?" lol
