    that kids face and info was all over 4chan for weeks. alot of people wanted to kick his ass after watching that video

    I want to beat the shit out of every person that videotapes these kinds of things and do NOTHING. It's like subconscious instigating.

    Id almost rather them not videotape it and do nothing. Unless their intent was somehow to help the perpetrator get caught.

    I would decidedly NOT turn my child in to the police. I would definitely go with them as they surrendered themselves.

    Since i dont have kids I thought about if that was my brother. I dont know if I could call the cops and sit back while they came to arrest him but I would take him to turn himself in while trying to find a good lawyer. I would want him to learn a lesson but I still love him and wouldnt want him locked up for a long time, I dont think my brother could handle it. Then again my brother wouldnt do something like this..I hope.

    Calling 911 is dumb but enlisting the help of the local police to put a "scare" into your kid isn't an uncommon practice in rural America.

IF HE DID, id give him an absolute hiding, id make him understand how unequivocally pathetic his actions were, and id chase down the other kids let them know how cowardly and pathetic they are,then id destroy all the evidence.

    tough one, the only way i could turn my boy in is he was hurting his children in that way, i think i would still try and give him the boot 1st n look after and protect the children. it would be a tough spot but one way or another you couldnt allow them to hurt children. if they did that u fucked up as a parent thou.
    I WOULDN'T TURN MY SON IN FOR RAPE OR MURDER. i dont say that unconsidered. i would loose so much respect for him if he hurt a girl like that, but i wouldnt turn him in.

    I would turn my kids in if they did anything bad like this especially if it hurt someone else. I have made mistakes and paid the price and think that is best deterrent.

    The kid in the video thats not playing in the op is of a bunch of kids beating the shit out of this defenseless asian kid in bridgeport...bridgeport is a southside neighborhood in chicago reserved for real skiddy people. 99%trash and punks. the one kid w out a mask is this guys son so he reported it...but it was in the news and everything here in chicago..supposedly that kid and his friends beat some1 up a week earlier or something so its a retaliation.

    Pretty huge difference between a fight and what happened in the video. I can tell you, if this video got out and it was me in the vid, I'd be praying the police caught me to save me from the ass whopping I would have got from my parents (and deservedly so).

    This highlights the problem with many of the responses itt. The video was already out on the internet by the time he called 911. The kid was already identified. Any decision by a father should account for the fact that it was only a matter of time before the cops apprehended him.

    The more general question of, "Would you ever turn your kid in?", is very much fact dependent.

    which is why I said "short answer," lol. one of my hypothetical children molesting or beating kids isn't even possible in my mind. Hamby's don't roll like that.

    obv there are countless scenarios where I would be willing to turn my son in for less than murder or rape...
