  1. A.J. Pierzynski just got into a pickle and fell down as if he got pushed and the ump called interference. I'm not a fan of either team, but this is like giving the Sox a win. Total bullshit call. And now Upton just went to play the infield (5 infielders). lol what a game.

    *edit* obv rays lose
  2. I agree. The gross thing is that it was Doug Eddings, which was the same ump that blew the call in the 2005 ALCS (Angels vs. White Sox).

Can you elaborate on the call he blew? I must have missed it
  4. Huh? The call that Doug Eddings said that the ball hit the dirt. Everyone in America excluding White Sox fans agrees that he blew the call big time.

  5. Meh, only a matter of time before the Rays choke anyway.
  6. The Rays can't choke because the Red Sox don't have the type of team that can catch them. Heck, it wouldn't shock me if Boston missed the post-season.

Oh, I missed the game or just don't remember it so I was asking ... is there a youtube clip of it or something?
  8. I can't find it on youtube.

Ok, so they'll choke in the playoffs. Cool.
  10. Anything is possible, but they're playing better baseball than anyone in the AL without Longoria and Carl Crawford.

  11. you cant touch the runner if you dont have the ball or a play on the ball. aj gets to turn around in the rundown whatever way he wants. if he chooses the way youre veering off and you dont veer off enough to avoid contact, tough shit. sure he was dead to rights and knew that was his only chance to really get out of the jam, and he got aybar to touch him and got the call. well played.

and the call in the angels game was pauls fault. aj swung at a ball down and josh paul just flipped it to the mound and bailed out. aj thought maybe it hit the ground and saw josh leaving and ran to first.

LOOOOOL at blown call. they showed that replay 80 million times throughout the rest of the playoffs blown up and in frame by frame slowmo. wheres the ump???? BEHIND THE MOTHERFUCKING CATCHER. how is he supposed to KNOW whether the ball hit the dirt or not from behind the catcher? especially when we have to watch 80 million viewings from the front at slowmo before we can even guess(and as the ball is getting into the glove, you can definitely see it move up in the glove, maybe just moving up into the pocket, but maybe it hit the ground and was propelled upwards... in any case, it indisputably comes within 1 cm of the ground).

anyway, josh paul is sitting there with the ball and merely has to tag aj, who also just standing there, and it's a non-issue. but he says eff this im leaving. another smart play from aj.

"hes the kind of guy that when youre on the other team, you hate him. but when he's on your team, you hate him a little less."
  12. You can't be that big of a homer Ozzie. First, AJ was out of the baseline. Second, you can't throw your elbow out to initiate contact with the fielder.

Edit: Also, with the 2005 ALCS it shouldn't have mattered because AJ started back to the dugout when strike 3 was called. You can't do that and then advance to first base. Eddings blew that call in more than one way.

  13. Fucking A.J. Pierlznskiekekei is the biggest fucking queer ever, have hated that fag ever since i can remember, and then their two announcers (Ace and Gary) are jerking him off as to what a good job he did cheating.

AJ makes a bonehead terrible base running decision and then looks to cheat to get out of it anyway possible. He looked for the defender and jabbed his arm out sideways to make sure he touched the defender and then flopped down, Fucking dog ass licking splooge eating blonde died hair rabbit shit chewing wannabe nose picker.
  14. oh yeah, forgot to mention his fag hair lmao

    unreal

  15. Agreed

  16. I love it when the Sox are down, and the Hawk starts to pout in the broadcast, and will say maybe 5 words per inning.
  17. the level of umpiring in major league baseball this season is appalling
  18. and seriously ozzie you can get bent for even lobbying for that being a good call or play. fucking queers, If i was joe madden I woulda went off, i mean throwing grenade and belly crawling and everything

youre an idiot. do you think "the baseline" is a straight line from base to base that no runner can ever stray from like a balance beam? have you ever seen anyone take a leadoff?

you can if you get the call. aybar shouldnt have been anywhere near him anyway. lesson learned for him.

i believe thats a newer rule. not sure what inspired it's inception.

    hmph.

AGAIN... so you contend, doug eddings, without being able to see the ball AT ALL as it goes into the glove, should have been able to clearly see whether the ball hit the dirt or not as it went into the glove?

    YOURE AN IDIOT

    aj pwns your souls.
  20. trading aj was the best thing that ever happened to the twins

  21. Actually I'm pretty sure running on the infield grass is out of the baseline in that instance.

    Agree
  24. It's fine, you clearly know a player is intelligent when they run halfway to 3rd, realize they're a moron, and then have to elbow the infielder and dive on the ground and pray the umpire sees nothing.

actually, yes, exactly. who else does that?

so are we settled on ajs a lucky prick? and aybar gets no blame for being there? seriously, does he wanna be the first to give aj a consolation hug after hes tagged? get the fuck out of there, dude.

If he doesn't throw his arm out, then he makes no contact. Maybe he wasn't considering the fact that he would cheat, I guess he's faulted for that, seeing as some players are actually professional.
  27. Just caught the replay on sportscenter.

Reminds me of the first Mighty Ducks, where Emilio thinks his team sucks so he keeps telling them to take a dive to get penalties called.
  28. sigh.

AJ is an angle shooting fucking scumbag, obviously.

Whomever said that he is out of the baseline is obviously wrong as the runner establishes his own baseline.

any other rule related questions go ahead and ask, but it appears that AJ threw an arm out or something else scuzzy and got the benefit of the call.

    And also to whoever said "I'd throw grenades and crawl on the field" regarding Joe Madden being ejected after this;
you will never see a manager act that in the big leagues. That is why Wellman and Mikulik will never manage at the big league level.

Bill, he can run on the infield grass and not be out of the baseline? I'm sure you know more about this than me, I'd just like to hear this explained.
