1. Cliff notes:
My hotmail account that i've had for over a decade as well as my myspace page were deleted seemingly at the same time on New Years Day, i don't know what to do.

I don't check these things daily, rarely ever go on myspace (the thrill died a year and a half ago). My pages just disappeared. Jumped on stars and they tell me that emails are getting bounced back.... Check my email and I can't sign in. Tried 'forgot password', not working. Its been over a decade so not sure what my zip code at the time was...... Went to look at my myspace since New Years Eve was my bday to see if I got any bday wishes from distant friends and my entire page is deleted....

Don't have any enemies nor would/could they get much out of this. Really lost on how to fix this.... Lost alot of contacts as all their info was saved in old emails and such.

    Any ANY help/ideas, please, FML

edit: these things are deleted its not a matter of I can't log in ie. someone emails my and it gets bounced back as undeliverable and my myspace page no longer exists.

edit 2: seeing as this is my 99th post joined on 9/9/09 and today is the 9th and i really really would love to get these things back...... i'll give $99 to whomever helps me resolve this

thread winner one post in. well done.
  8. wonderful... look guys. Had this email account for almost 15 years, had a couple thousand old emails saved in there from back in college and all. Had other accounts with gmail and everybody but none stuck.

I understand alot of you guys are younger and maybe all about trends. Never had a problem with hotmail (owned my microsoft) until now. Never felt a reason to just stop using an email account because its no longer trendy. Imagine how you would feel if all your saved emails disappeared? Can we now get to helping me possibly? I'm giving out a cash reward for the love of....

  10. To reset your Windows Live Hotmail password and create a new when you have forgotten your old:
    •
Go to the Windows Live Hotmail password reset page.
Type your Hotmail address under E-mail address.
Enter the characters from the captcha under Characters.
      •
Alternatively, select I can't see this image and type the characters as you hear them.

Click Continue.
Click Provide account information and answer your secret question..
      •
If your browser or Hotmail still log you into your account automatically and you want to change your (forgotten) password, click Send yourself a password reset e-mail message. and click Send Message.
If you have provided an alternate email address for your Windows Live Hotmail account, you can also send the password reset email to that address. Choose Send yourself a password reset e-mail message. and click Send Message.

Enter the desired location information (what is demanded differs from country to country).
Enter the answer to the secret question under Secret Answer:.
Click Continue.
Type the desired new password under New password: and Retype new password:.
Click Continue.
Click Done.

Recover a Lost Windows Live Hotmail Password Without Secondary Address or Secret Question Answer

If you have neither a secondary email address associated with your Windows Live Hotmail account nor a secret question (or a satisfying answer to it):
    •
Use the Windows Live ID Validation form.
      •
Provide as much detail as possible so Windows Live Hotmail support can connect you to your account without doubt.
        good luck

    EDIT:

After 120 days (about 4 months) without access, a Windows Live Hotmail account becomes inactive. This means all messages stored in the account are deleted and no new mail is accepted.

After 210 days (about 7 months) of inactivity, a Windows Live Hotmail account is permanently deleted. If you don't use your Windows Live ID (which is your Windows Live Hotmail email address) for 360 days (about a year), it, too, can be permanently deleted. Somebody else can take your Windows Live Hotmail address
  11. If you don't use your hotmail account for a certain period of time (I think 90-120 days), it'll be designated as inactive and deleted automatically. Hope that's not what happened.
  12. i think its more than 120 days but yeah they do delete inactive accounts. Just create a new one. Fuck sentimentality.
  13. Thanks for the couple of honest responses. Kinda bewilderes me that its uncool to hold on to an email address for a long period of time, like "hotmail is no longer cool so why do you have it"

That was/is my primary email addy. I never went a full month without checking it and had checked it at most a week before realizing it was deleted. I will try what was said and if I am successful will ship you the $99.

Do you think my myspace was deleted because of the email going down? And yes I am over myspace and social networks in general and no longer even go on there so don't care too much about that.

edit: its about the lost saved emails, i can get a new account no problem.

Yep, we can lock this one up.
  15. changing from Hotmail to Gmail is not about being <cool> its about using a shitty product while there is a much better one available at no extra cost.

Its about efficiency. GL getting your emails back, I know with gmail even the messages you <delete> from you inbox go into your achives and you can search them with the power of Google... very very sick.
  16. I use both regularly and I still prefer hotmail
