I mean , I get it the kid is young and made a mistake but he KILLED THREE PEOPLE and left a man without his family in critical condition.

His fathers death by a drunk driver should have made him more cautious imo.

Should get life in jail for everyone he killed or if we had it, death.

Roman Luskin was sentenced in Old City Hall court on Monday. (Alex Tavshunsky/CBC) A 23-year-old Toronto man convicted of killing three people while driving drunk has been sentenced to eight years in prison.
Roman Luskin was sentenced Monday morning at Toronto's Old City Hall courthouse.
Luskin pleaded guilty to three counts of criminal negligence causing death and two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm.
Jennifer Penman, Luskin's lawyer, said her client is devastated by what he did.
"I think this is a loss all around," she said after the sentencing. "As he said when he gave his statement, he lost his father when he was five to a drunk driver and he had something very real taken away from him for the rest of his life, and now he's done that to somebody else."
Police said at the time that Luskin's BMW was travelling at about 200 kilometres per hour on a Saturday night in October, 2009. when it smashed into a Honda Odyssey van near Tobermory Drive and Finch Avenue.
The force of the collision split the van in half.
Hon To, 44, her daughter Khan (Christine) Taing and a third passenger were thrown from the van. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
To's husband, Pho Taing, and another passenger were taken to a Toronto hospital with serious injuries.
In passing sentence Justice Gary Trotter called Luskin's actions "a wanton and reckless disregard for the safety and lives of others."
Luskin will serve three years and two months in prison after credit for time already served is taken into account.
He is an immigrant from Kazakhstan and faces deportation.

  2. Canada is awesome tho and has all the best laws.
  3. 8 years for killing 3 people. I don't know much about the Canadian legal system but that's just laughable. Not the the US is much better.

I mean i think we are pretty relaxed here for all but the most serious crimes. Prostituion, drug laws, counterfeit goods, most of these crimes are in the open so leaves our cops lots of time to find real criminals.

But 3 years for literally destroying three lifes of an innocent family forever with timed served?
Thats around 1 year for ever life. Hope they kick his ass back in kazakhstan but doubt it.

Not even really the lawyers fault when hes charged with three counts of criminal negligence causing death and two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm and the penalty as given by the law is not that strict. The penalties should be much harsher imo.

His hand painted sad face characture drawn above is what angers me the most. I bet he was rubbing one shoe on the floor to fake real remorse too

  5. Criminal negligence??? Pretty sure that's vehicular homicide.

  6. Probably get even less time in jail here in UK, prolly 5 years for manslaughter and then serve half that for good behaviour. It's always the innocent ones who get killed in these crashes and the Drunk drivers seem to get out alive.
  7. People from Canada have funny names.
  8. College football player is facing up to 8 years for intentionally running a band member over. Guy kills 3 and gets 3 years. Thats crazy.

Oh, and by the by . . . I believe he was charged as stringently as the law currently allows.

How exactly did you come to the conclusion that he does not have remorse?
