WOWZER I'd be really scurred if I were a Moderate Democrat up for re-election in 2010. I would be like "public option, huh?, no no no I don't want no stinkin public option". LOLZ
UD is smarter than I thought. I should have been MIA last Nov, ha ha. -
You tell 'em Niptuck!!
-
looks like him "winning" the ban bet with clay acutally screwed himself
-
I'd be really scared if I were a Repub. with a "leader" like Sarah Palin.
-
WTG, the same clowns with the same ideas.......exciting.
-
I'll be a little disappointed if the Republicans are let off the mat so soon. They haven't suffered enough. There need to be just enough Republicans to cause gridlock on the big ticket items (like health care reform).
-
lol my roommate has Fox News on and even all the pundits there are warning against reading too much into these elections...
edit: nvm seems like Ailes just got the memo through -
the biggest news to me was throwing the RINO in upstate NY under the bus. Whether the conservative wins or not it sent a loud message that the Bush type Republicans need not apply. It's encouraging i may have a party I can get behind now.

I agree with ya mariner, i'm just happy that the people that are campaigning on smaller government are winning here. I don't care what party you call yourself, if you are for reeling in our runaway gov, i'm voting for ya.

Isn't it just amazing though, that in the face of this public sentiment, Pelosi and Reid are still trying to jam through the biggest government-control package of our lifetime?

I mean, we say mind-bottling around her a lot... but the Senate leaders right now are taking it to unprecedented levels of: MINDBOTTLE!!!!!!!!!!! -
If the Republican party dropped the religious right and actually ran on a platform that emphasized small government and government staying out of people's lives they would crush the democrats in every single election ever

It has only taken 9 months for Obama to damage his party as bad as Bush did in 8 years. I hope for more of this kind of change!!

but yeah, fairly encouraged by this today...not a fan of Republican morality legislation but hopefully this will continue to embolden them to stop that health care bill. I don't like that they're the opposition party but it's the best we've got in this case
---edit---lolllllllll @ them chanting "yes we can!" at christie's speech -
When was the last time we saw government shrink?

This isn't true because society and media push Ivory Tower ideals down our throats. These ideals get into people's heads, and laws are constantly being called for and created as a sign of action being taken, as well as for a politician's bragging right to say "look what I did while I was in office; I passed this...". People want small government and government staying out of people's lives, while at the same time the same people are crying foul for calls to action about all sorts of issues. It's hypocritical and retarded. People want it both ways, and it just ends up resulting in one big run-around.

Good post! Yeah the opposing party will rake you over the coals at reelection time if you just let the country be happy (in good times) instead of (choose one or more) ruining/attempting to save something that doesn't need saving/change for changes sake/poke the oppositions stance on anything. which Btw IS business as usual. ...Hey, at least the republicans have advanced their image of LESSER government of the two parties where a year and a half ago people who didn't know any better thought DEMS were that group. Things are clearer again for a generation born after Carter now that they know how bad it CAN get. Oh, And higher taxes and cap and trade haven't even passed yet!!!! Lollllllll.
