No word on pierce, but my gut says he'll play.

Heat -4.5
Clippers -5 (Steph Curry will not be playing)
Though I have to say I hate betting opening day of a shortened season with little preseason to go off of. Degen gonna degen tho -
did y'all see where these lines started? massive movement on all 5-wish I would've been wise to that shortly after they came out.
anyway, I want action. . .but I want to just enjoy nba ball tomorrow too. I like all 3 early favorites given the huge line-swings-moneylines only. however am going to parlay each with OKC and hope all 3 win and then hedge on the orlando ML which I hope will still be +300 by game time.
I know hedging sucks though, somebody talk me out of it. -
Lakers!!!! So excited for the season to start tomorrow.
-
In all honesty, as a celtics' fan, did you ever think you'd say to yourself "man I wish we still had nate robinson and delonte west for some depth"

delonte, definitely. i don't understand the decision to not resign him since its sounded like he wanted to return
nate, not so much. rather have eddie house back -
January 16th vs Dallas....I took "Andrew Bynums Knees Will Explode" at -300. 8 games in 12 days, LOCK IT UP!!!!

Avery bradley and keyon dooling are both upgrades defensively. While Delonte certainly had his moments he also had mental lapses and times where he just didn't seem to give a fuck. Like a truly bi-polar person, he was also a bi-polar player. I won't really miss him. FUCK no on having eddie house back. Bradley can d people up and dooling isn't no slouch. Bass and Wilcox along with Daniels give the team a lot more depth as well. Pietrus just signed too (sigh, i fucking hate pietrus, but he's a decent player and can bang some 3's, something we lacked off the bench last year). All we're missing is PERK. FUCK U DANNY AINGE U COCK SUCKING FAGGOT. -
well betting parlays with the intent on hedging is the dumbest thing you can do unless you have some inside info that the magic/thunder line is gonna make a major move. I can't even fathom why you would bet on OKC with the intention to bet ORL ml later. You would be paying double juice.

I love the Clippers line even w/ Curry playing, if he is out I think it looks tooooo enticing for me to bet. but I'm sure I will anyway. This is gonna be the best season ever for betting, take a look at the first 2 games and see who is out of shape then pound it against them. -
Gotta love it when Celts fans are talking themselves into Avery Bradley and Keyon Dooling...

I'm just gonna echo what Bill Simmons says about the Celtics. "Bench KG and PP as much as possible and get a 6 or higher seed....the whole point of the regular season is to avoid Chicago and Miami in the first round...make that a 5 seed, don't want to see New York either" -
Edited By: AMARTIN1181 Dec 25th, 2011 at 02:26 PMthose are our backup point guards... wtf are you talking about? I didn't say we were gonna win the fucking east or anything close to that you goddamn bum. Dooling's always been a solid backup and Bradley has been lauded for his defense by experts all around the league. Go read up on it for the love of god. I don't necessarily disagree with simmons, either... the fuck do you know about bradley that i don't davols?? he's played like 10 games his first 2Originally Posted by DaVols

seasons?

yup... just a first round pick who's been learning from some of the best defensive coaches in the league under the tutelage of maybe the best defensive point guard in the nba, rajon rondo. He obviously sucks tho, good point. Fucking amateur with your sarcastic ass comments. Next time you wanna sound clever and mock the celtics because they aren't top contenders after a really nice 4 year run, just go with the standard "lol you guys are old"... or "If you guys don't die out there maybe you'll have a shot this season" instead of making a fool out of yourself with comments about a player you know nothing about. People wrote the celtics off in 2009 and we damn near won the title, I'm not sayign we can beat the heat or the bulls, in my nba picks for the season I have them as the 4 seed in the east and Heat coming out of the east. I don't need to talk myself into shit, everything I said in my post was true. And Rondo plays 35-40 minutes a night so it's not like we need much from these guys either.
In other words, shut the fuck up.
Which brings us to my nba picks:
east:
1. Heat
2. Bulls
3. Knicks
4. Celtics
5. Magic
6. Pacers
7. Sixers
8. Hawks
Heat over Bulls
west
1. Thunder
2. Mavericks
3. Clippers
4. Nuggets
5. Lakers
6. Grizzles
7. Spurs
8. Blazers
Thunder over clippers
finals : Heat over Thunder.
hate to say it, but barring injury to wade or james( lol at that freak of nature getting hurt) I think this is Miami's year. Then again, Lebrick can and will usually find a new way to blow it, so there is hope for that. The thunder coming out of the west I'm not positive about, but they have a great chance.
MVP : Chris Paul
Defensive player : Tyson Chandler
Most improved: Ty Lawson
6th man: James Harden
coach of the year: George Karl
I had a really tough time ordering the west. I think difference between 8 and 2 in the west will be less than 5 or 6 game so the order pretty much irrelevant. While I was ready to take bets on the clippers losing more games than the lakers I have flip-flopped my position after not only watching the preseason performance in the teams matchups, but also just looking at how much more depth the clips have than the lakers. They also have the 2 best players playing in LA right now, and a hungry super star ready to make his mark on the league and show those that don't know that he is the best point guard of our generation, and one of the best point guards of all time... oh yeah and that guy Blake Griffin. Watch out for those clips. They are going to be good. The lakers depth is laughable, but I'll never count a pissed off Kobe out. And they can still make a move or 2 to sure up that team.
Going to be a great season, and more importantly another epic post season. The nba is reaching heights not seen since the early 90's/ late 80's and the talent level is at an all time high. Just look at the list of nba point guards if you don't believe me. -
lol

I mean it's pretty much a curse that I got the Bulls +2 a few days ago and now they're laying 4.5. C'mon big guy in the red suit!

But yeah I get your point. Lots of good players have gone to Jerusalem to play ball during the lockout. Him and DJ Strawberry were quite the back court duo.
Whats next? You going to post another link to a biased source about the amazing front court depth? Got anything good on Brandon Bass or Chris Wilcox? You're 1 injury in the front court away from a 26-40 season, given that the starters are Kevin Garnett and Jermaine O'Neal, probably not very likely.
PP being hurt before the season starts is another good sign -
Yeah okay, buddy. I could find you 10 experts that say bradley is a great defensive player, but I won't waste my time. I never touted the celtics as title contenders, i just said we've got more depth than last season.
-
Well the thing is that the guards aren't the problem. In all seriousness (no more of this 'my dick is bigger than yours BS') how do you feel about the front court? You know that KG is due for a serious knee problem and Jermaine ONeal is very inconsistent. Rondo is still young and Ray Allen doesn't take that much of a beating so while your BC might be deeper that isn't where the major concern lies
-
Obviously not confident at all, we could really use some youth and another 7 footer.
but I just wanted u to admit you don't know shit about Avery Bradley nucca. -
I watched him play in college and nothing about him screamed "NBA level talent." He's looked good guarding scrubs, but his position is one where he'll have to guard some extremely athletic PGs (Rose, Wall, Williams, Wade come to mind)
