it's kind of a general rule that pitchers don't catch infield pop ups because they have to deal with maneuvering around the mound and possibly tripping over it, much easier for a corner position player to just come in on it. I have mixed feelings about the DHOriginally Posted by Jaybone2315

I gotta give props to Joe Girardi. I SHIT on the dude all the time for his decisions, but props to him for having the balls to pinch hit Ibanez there, Raul did the rest cuz he's a pro, but girardi putting him in that spot is ballsy as hell.

None of the other lefties did shit tho. I hated girardi playing chavez in this game over ibanez and I didn't like keeping a-rod in the 3 whole. I laughed aloud when he pinch hit ibanez for a-rod, but I was happy as hell at the same time cuz i knew a-rod wasn't gonna do shit. A-rod shoulda been hitting 6th since like may but apparently he just gets to hit 3rd based on his name alone? I'm not sure who else you can really put in the 3 hole considering how bad every one else is struggling, but I'm def dropping a-rod to like at least the 6 hole going forward.
