    You're the one who asked the original question, and goddamn, it's a tough one. Both of these actors are unbelievably good.

    I already gave my smartass answer above, but I will say that between the two I give the slight edge to De Niro, although let's try to forget the Rocky and Bullwinkle movie. Then again, Pacino was in Dick Tracy, so I guess they've both had their share of bad choices.

    Best individual performance: Pacino, Godfather Part II.

    Best overall career: De Niro, by a good margin.

    Deniro almost took the role of "Michael" away from Al in the original Godfather movie. They had already cast Al, but Deniro blew them away when he auditioned at the last minute. That's why he got the role of Vito in the sequel. They've always had a rivalry since then. They are a little better now, but up until Heat, they had never made another movie together - and you'll notice they are only on screen together in 2 scenes - the coffee shop and the climax. All in all, I'd lean towards Deniro - more range (funny as shit when he wants to be).
