Too bad about his bald spot, though.
-
nice play
good athletes can make almost any sport entertaining
i would have more respect for them if they called it frisbee instead of flying disc though -
Nope, pretty sure Ill still look at it the same.
Cool catch tho... i guess. -
op have you never played ultimate? Its fun as hell.
And that was a pretty amazing catch imo -
I was there, saw that live :)
-
trapped. Need a review from the booth
-
The frisbee touched the ground when he landed, so I'm not impressed. Plus I've made catches like that in blacktop parking lots and thornbushes.
-
was it time to bring in blotter?
-
still ghey
-
When you score like that, you deserve to spike. I've never had a layout quite that good but when I have made a layout, I generally twirl the disk Old West style and pretend I'm putting it back in my holster. I've also done a Brandi Chastain shirt pull off when I scored to win a game.
Now doing such theatrics on a 5 yard toss just sucks especially with the element of sportsmanship you are supposed to show in Ultimate. This guy deserved it though. -
whew. i was afraid that this might involve a pic of LL.
-
O snap! That was tight
-
Notice that they cut the footage before they all stood in a circle and sparked a celebratory joint.
-
That catch was the reason that guy was born. All other achievements in his life will fall short when juxtaposed with that amazing catch.
-
awesome catch....great play! Buy that guy a beer!

Meh, if he didnt have two knee braces and a bald spot he could have caught it in stride.
Fucking Vuvuzela's at a frisbee game should be the topic tho. -
I enjoyed this trumpet thread
-
I bet their after game parties are wild as hell, you know those guys are getting laid for sure.
-
fuckin sick catch. <3 ultimate.
-
you obviously haven't been on a campus where ultimate is played by over half the student population. I have seen the CU-Boulder ultimate frisbee club team groupies, they are smokin
-
Does he kiss his teammate on the mouth?
-
was that allan kessler?
-
i agree i challenge that catch
it clearly made contact with the ground....
incomplete... -

I disagree. If it touched the ground first, there's no way it ends up gripped in his hands like that. A frisbee is going to ricochet away from his hands, or skim along the ground. Either way, he's not getting a hold of it with one hand all in one motion like that if it's on the ground. I reviewed it four times. It's a catch. -
Edited By: applejackking Jul 27th, 2010 at 04:19 AMDoesn't matter if it touched the ground after the catch. It's still a catch. It can be challenged but you'd have to have a good angle to make that call.Originally Posted by Dissident

7. If a pass arrives in such a manner that it is unclear whether acatch was made before the disc contacted the ground (grass isconsidered part of the ground), the player(s) with the bestperspective makes the call (usually the receiver).
