    There's a douchey new place in Uptown Dallas that has these as their signature drink. They're terrible. The combination of ginger beer and copper mug is like licking pennies.

    Okay, for the record, it is KETEL ONE. And the reason for drinking Vodka neat is the same as for drinking any booze that way. Namely, that you like the taste.

    For all you folks posting about Grey Goose . . . I would really suggest a tasting. Take your Goose, some Chopin (black label), Vincent van Gogh classic, and Still Waters Single Malt. Do a blind tasting, and see if you STILL think that Goose is worth the $$$. I am guessing you won't, because no one I have done this for thinks so. Grey Goose has NEVER finished better than third, in over 2 dozen trials, coming in last a total of 19 times.

    so i'm in LA this weekend and went out with an old flame. the plan was vodka drinks only but we strayed. we started off with "Hit and Runs": 42 Below vodka, muddled cucumber, basil, fresh lime juice, simple syrup served on the rocks. then moved on to mojitos. went to a sushi place and split a bottle of sake (rice beer/ rice wine). after that we went to a dive bar and i insisted that we take some shots. i wanted straight up vodka but she opted for a "cosmo shot" or something which was just vodka and a but of cranberry in a larger shot glass. it was a good night.

    lol here's a pic of us with some random dude in the dive bar that was dressed up as a cowboy. interesting.

    As far as taste, I definately can distinguish between the brands, as to what i like and dislike. My favorite is Stoli, then Titos..... I am not a fan of Goose

    i also prefer a good vodka straight on ice , but for flavor one thing i tried a few months back was pinnacle whipped cream vodka
    with orange dry soda . taste like a creamsicle

    I usually drink vodka/red bull, if i'm being cheap vodka/cran, but back in high school is was Powerade and Vodka.

    Bloody Mary's are pretty good. Get the olives and pickles, eat those as you drink and you'll be fine ;)
