It was a such a banner possibility year for the Mavs. Started 24-5, but it was different because of a season of assimilation by Caron Butler and Haywood, with a team playing defense like a Mavericks team never had before. And Chandler adds a huge rebounding and defensive presence inside that fits this team. Sure there was the Lakers continual threat, and the Spurs surge in early season, but the Mavs could clearly beat both of those teams heads up in given opportunities. Then Dirk tweaks a ligament... ok it will cost some wins. But then Caron - Caron Butler who has been the pivot of this season's surge - both defensively and offensively - tears a patellar tendon (his 2nd of such). The team is still strong with Dirk coming back, and yeah they beat the Fakers on Wed night (woo-fucking-hoo), but THE element of the chemistry is now missing with Butler. Maybe they can get Hinrich for some depth (I'm a big fan of this move), maybe they can pull something else off.... but the season that I felt could be the dream season irretrievably lost a key part. Caron will likely be traded for his expiring contract.
Vent away on your team's woes. -
ughhhhhhhhhh sign Pujols already
-
Warriors beat the Mavs as the 8 seed
both football teams sucked, so thats a wash
GIANTS beat whoever they were playing the WS
hockey is weak, so you can have that one
so my teams win 2-1-1 -
i was at thomas and mack tonight and watched the running rebels get a beat down from the vaunted rams of colorado state. the team was sloppy.

Yay for the Mavs for beating the Lakers tonight. Always a good thing in my book

F U and F Melo. I hope he goes to the Suns or whoever your team is and then NeNe breaks his neck in his return to the Mile High City so I can shit on his jersey and have it sent to you priority style. I know that's a long run on sentence so F the grammar police too.
Oh yeah, a BIG FU shoutout to Mc"FuckHead"Daniels too. Thanks for the memories -

Why is the debacle the Nuggets fault?

They offered him a $65 million contract. A fair deal. He doesn't want to stay in Denver. They have to move him or risk getting nothing. It's hardly the Nuggets fault that he doesn't want to stay in Denver or that the rules are what they are. -
The Falcons and Braves killed me this year, but they were probably good not great teams so I can only blame myself for letting expectations get too high (plus they have a great talent/youth ratio so I should be OK with these guys for a while).
Carolina is really killing me though and LD3 is wielding the knife, Marshall seems like 10x the player but somehow Drew gets so much more burn. Hard to hate on the Savior Barnes too much as he is a rook and it's tough to step into a major NCAA powerhouse and dominate out the gates. Reggie Bulloch has been my biggest disappointment but I'm hoping his injury is bothering him more than he's leading on.
It's so much more fun to have meh expectations coming into the season then get to ride the emotional roller-coaster with your team imo, than to have high expectations and just get let down. -
The Twins failed in pretty much all their offseason moves. Sign no one, lose Hardy, Hudson, Crain, and Guerrier. They decided to keep Matt Capps at $7m, while declining to offer Guerrier arb. They had their best season in some time and then swap their starting, veteran middle infield for a guy who's been inconsistent at best and another guy who's never played professionally in America. Their so poorly run from a front office standpoint, but they have enough talent for their standard 85-90 wins. Frustrating, but its not like they're Kansas City.
