  1. We are playing four handed, blinds at .25/.50. Stacks are anywhere from 90-150$. I have $109 and villian has $95.

I raise UTG here 3x with k8 sooted. btn folds, sb folds, BB calls. (pot 3.25)

    FLOP: 5 8 2 rainbow.
Villian checks, i bet 2.50, villian calls. (pot 8.25)

TURN: Q, (adding no flush draws to the board)
Villian bets out here 6.25, i call. (pot 20.75)

    RIVER: 8
Villian bets out $17 (to make pot 37.25) HERO: ?????

From playing with this guy previously i know he can have quite a wide range, especially at 4 handed protecting his bb.

Is it an easy flat here, or should i be folding? Also, can i ever 3 bet and not shove, or is shoving the best raise option?

What about my bet size preflop 4 handed? And the call on the turn? Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it!
  2. im definantly raising. My raise size would be close to min raising. its likely going to look strong, but if he is calling anything it will be with a Qx hand or he has been counterfeited with Q rag. If he has Q8 he lets u bet again on the turn as opposed to leading out, so he is medium strength. I think a shove folds him, so a min raise is likely to look like a steal. If he is your feriend he is more likely to call as he thinks u will bluff him much more often than a random player. My raise is usually aroun $22 more here. If he shoves, then call.
  3. See, i don't necessarily like that line (although it's how i played it, raised $25 more). I don't like the fact that if he 3bet shoves on me it's a terribly reluctant call, I would think i'm almost never good. Is there anyway to get around this here other than simply calling?

id say you can safely fold to a 3 bet there from most players. (and know your never good)

if the player is capabale of 3 bet bluffing there then prob just call the river
  5. im never folding here.....you still have $90 something behind, 1. u can flat ( im never flatting)......2. you can 3 bet to $35 - $45....and call his shove......4 handed doubt he has the 8.....and if he had a set and filled up on river then GG....but im sure if he had any pair in the BB he wouldve 3 bet you Pre flop so doubt he had a pair there either....mostlikely a blufff or he had the Q
  6. never fold. your c-bet was tiny so im thinking he flatted with air on flop and maybe caught Q. %100 raising to about 40 here everytime
  7. For sure I'd raise the river as well however In this spot he has A8 and it sux cause you 3bet and he rejammed and u made a crying call knowing he had u beat with a8 or a boat.

unlucky but you played it correctly so np!!

Thanks everyone I really appreciate the input. How do you suggest I alter my flop bet then? I don't really see a problem betting 2.50 into 3.25. What are the benefits to a stronger c-bet? I would think I am scaring off any of the hands I beat here especially on such a dry flop.

2.50 into 3.25 is pretty strong, I'd just make it 40 on the riv n call a shove.
  10. if your calling on the turn your def not folding the river IMO. I think a flat on river is ok after the way you played it. By just calling the turn there you dont really give your self very much information. He could of easily flopped set here too.
