Within 18 left in a live mtt, I'm in the big blind with blinds 800 1600 with a 100 ante. UTG announces call but puts in 3200 and everyone folds around to me. I check. So pot should be at 5k or so. I look over and the dealer was giving the guy change and takes out 14k from his tray and puts it into the pot and NOBODY notices. The pot was at 20k and NO ONE even realized it. Not even the UTG player who limped. Board comes K46r. I was thinking wtf in my head and said I have to steal with 9high seeing as I'm getting huge implied odds. The dealer made a weird mistake that confused me but no one else saw. So I bet 7k, utg calls. Turn 10. I bet 10k he insta shoves and I fold.

Is this either A) Edge shooting and a dick move or B) Part of the game. Don't sweat it. I prefer the latter seeing as it's the dealers fault and I should play based off what's in the pot.
Karmas a bitch and I end up bubbling it and losing a flip for chip lead.

I say karma. U should have told dealer.
-
Definitely karma. You should have told the dealer as soon as you noticed his mistake. I'm still trying to figure out why the dealer would need to make change for the UTG limper though. If the BB was 1600 and he put in 3200 why would he have to make change? Why wouldn't the dealer tell him to take the overage back?

awww youre fucked now..might as well just go outside and light a hundo on fire and just get it over with...

this looks like some kind of inside job ,between utg and dealer,he clearly says call and limps double the bb and for some reason the dealer gives him change AND sticks 14k? into the pot ,im not sure how many retards are at the table but whatever

my sniffa says u got took and im sure in the fk aint gnna be quiet about it
unless you're all tweeked out and seeing shit -
This is what I was thinking seriously. After the hand made me realize that he coulda limped anything and just pray I didn't hit the flop. :/ Funny because that guy sucked so bad and ended up not even cashing when he was chipleader forever and spewed it all off. I wasn't tweeking and I KNOW what I saw. I was just wishing someone would have said something because I tried to play it out to win and extra 10bbs for posting just the blind.

after you mucked ,you shoulda simply said hey wait a minute that pot looks crazy, but knowingly checking your bb right away on a 2bet utg limper, and not questioning to the dealer what is going on over there is one thing odd that i would never do ,but than to see the dealer stick 14k into the pot from the tray after making change for an overbet seems like intentional confusion if you're the only one seeing this
conclusion: utg had code for dealer he will say i call and limp a 2 bet ,dealer now knows that his boy is 18 deep wth aa or kk and hooks up
the pot with 14k while making change for a limped overbet
you dont say anything and try to get a spiked pot against a monster hand, dealer /player pot set up scandal
because you did this you don't say anything and wished that someone else spoke up but they didn't see it,only you .
after the tournament ends, dealer goes to his chip spewing buddy utg player "you idiot i hooked you up with a fat pot,i even made sure only the bb seen the extra chips and he bit the bait".............. -
How about we simplify whatever the hell double_kyan was talking about and go with this...
If a dealer makes a mistake and you see it, point it out to them. Mistakes happen, and although I'm still not really sure what the hell he was doing as someone pointed out it makes no sense for him to need to make change, the fact is they happen, and trying to take advantage of them is the very definition of angle shooting, and scummy.
It's really not that hard... -
its pretty simple ,a full table misses[amazingly] the limped overbet and than they get sucked in by change from overbet while 14k gets put into the pot from the tray, give me a fkn break its either player/dealer scam or OP is making up this story

its one or the other , a triple mistake like this doesnt happen, unless its some new nervous dealer ,but im willing to bet this dealer was fast and polished at his trade
do you get it crystalmeth_donkey -
This did happen, and it happened so fast that it could have easily been setup. They are smart too because it happened about 2 minutes before a break so that's probably why no one questioned it. Everyone who wasn't in the hand already started talking with other people and shit. I wish my friend was there and would have saw it because it was the shadiest thing I've seen in a long time.
