The WSOP Main Event is upon us. Shaun Deeb's grandmother Ellen Deeb, UFC fighter Georges St. Pierre, and Nevada junior Senator Dean Heller will be giving the "Shuffle Up and Deal" command on Day 1A, Day 1B, and Day 1C of the Main Event, respectively. Read more:

Kind of a hodgepodge group. It's neat to see Ellen Deeb, who is 92 and will likely be the oldest player in the Main Event. St. Pierre is kind of random, and we're not really sure where Heller stands on poker. All we know is that Heller is from Nevada and is up for election in November and he voted with the poker community back in 2008. What do you guys think? Are these three appropriate or who would you have selected? -
I think that Jack Effel should be the one to say "Shuffle Up and Deal."

I think the "Celeb Factor" is going against Effel himself doing it, although I would tend to agree with you. Giving the "Shuffle up and deal" command is like being present at the Super Bowl coin flip or signing the National Anthem. There's a certain aura and uniqueness about having someone special do it.

Might be a dumb question but anywhere on the internet to watch the action? Checked ESPN but seemed nothing today
