played in a local poker club thursday night. cards get tied with elastics during closing so cards aren't always perfect.lol believe me many have told club this is retarded but they dont listen
so one card is bent more than the others..realize its the k of diamonds so next time i see it dealt again i rem and its the k of diamonds.. call the floor over and ask if we can get a new deck. she looks at me like im a dick for making a fuss but thats besides the point.. question is, do u speak up or just use it to ur advantage? i really dont know what the right play is. im a tall guy so if player to right doesnt cover hole cards with hand i can see outta corner of my eye.. always tell him/her and figured it was basically the same thing..

I think it's a small small edge and if you aren't purposely bending cards there's no ethics issue on your behalf. I suppose you can request a new deck that seems like the best bet. Same thing with players showing their hole cards. I play live with old timers a lot and some times it seems like they just lift their hands right up, I can seriously SEE both hole cards clearly. But wtf am I supposed to do? Tell this old guy how to look at his cards or keep my mouth shut and note that those cards are dead??? No harm no foul there. Poker

yeah seeing the cards is just common to let a guy know . people have done it to me and i extend it to other players.. its just if it comes down to bvb u will call any raise and call with bottom pair every street if u see sb hand and ur good.. hes going to get suspicious and say ur cheating. floor might see hand and get suspicious on you and put extra eyes on ya.. i'm def leaning towards i was to nice to suggest a new deck and was an advanatage i shouldve kept quiet about
as an online grinder of the 60's id play with 5-6 regs.. every other player had neg roi and u would kinda feel for them as long term they had no chance.. as ive been playing live more u realize u cant turn the chat off and u realize how people are just douche's.. a lot of guys/girls fish will say ur just playing bingo and are just generally annoying, so u have no guilt for capitalizing on a situation like this. lol best when people flip when u beat them on river for 40$ pot. after they settle down some say im sorry but u would do same thing if i rivered u. not really dude. just a game
cliff notes: live poker blows. live fish's misery is the emergency brake on the fun at the table and then its just becomes a job with a 70-80% paycut

I wouldn't play at a club that used obviously marked cards, whether intentionally marked or not. The game conditions appear to be questionable at best. What else are they not doing correctly.
I played at a card club for a couple years and they always changed cards when they were discovered to be irregular. -
Ditto. If it's happening by accident and they're not taking decks out of action then it HAS to be happening intentionally as well.

I think using a marked card to your advantage even if you didn't mark it is fairly scummy. I would always request a new deck.

the place i play at now any player can call for a new setup at the top of the hour. it doesn't matter if the other 8 players dont want the deck to change it only takes one person to ask.
-
this is ridiculous and i wouldnt trust this place get out now unless it a damn penny game this is huge advantage not minimal no way u can't believe tht ur the only one tht recognizes this and prob other things on cards too no way i play there new decks a re a dime a dozen where i play

I would ALWAYS ask for a new deck anytime you notice anything like this. Keep in mind if you see something like that it's very possible that someone else may have already. So even though you may think it's an advantage it may not be. You might avoid losing a pot when you know they have it but you may also not get paid when you do. I'd rather not even have those type thoughts in my mind and just play my game.

i would totally ask for a new deck. knowingly keeping the marked cards on the table is as scummy as being able to see someone's cards every hand and not letting them know to protect their hand
