See Where You Rank in Virginia

  1. hey its my first time going to the wsop 2012 in vegas, i plan on just playing event #30 1500$ buy in, anyone know the best hotel to stay in? does the rio have cash games?1-2 2-5 or 5-10nl are my choices and holdem.. Or is it better to stay on the strip and just travel to the rio for the series!? cuz if the rio sucks once i bust from wsop event it will be apain travelling back to strip for better casinos!!? any feedback would be great.

  2. I would stay somewhere around the middle of the strip and just travel to the Rio. Lots of choices for all budgets at the middle of the strip and then you're close to everything for the time you're not playing in the WSOP.

  3. If you have a roll for 5-10nl...then you could join in on other tournies unless time is a problem.

There are other series going on as well, Ventian, Caesars, Nugget etc.

  5. Advice on where to stay would be better if you gave us more info on your plans.
When you arrive? How long will you be staying?
What type of budget you have for rooms? What are your expectations on rooms (traveling alone or with some friends)?
How are you traveling (car, bus, train or flying)? Vegas has some shuttle bus service (free) or you could buddy up for transportation or they have a rail shuttle (you can purchase daily tickets for about $15).

If you are budget minded and you only plan to use the room for sleep, showers, clothes storage; the Gold Coast Casino is across the street from the RIO (5 minute walk). It's been about $40.00 per night the days I was there. Maybe a little higher since It's been a couple years. It's fairly easy to get around with a little effort.

You can check out the 2+2 Magazine this month. Mason did his yearly survey of tables running the various games & buy ins. There will be many more games running during the series but you will get some idea of where the games will be.

You can find $1/$2 blinds to $5/$10 blinds NLHE almost everywhere during the series.

  7. venetian and Aria are 2 of the better places Ive played cash at. Both have all the limits running that you are looking for.

this is true for the rest of the year...if you're playing low or midstakes (the stakes that he listed, pretty much) then the rio has gotta be the place to be

so many random tourists come to look at the wsop and want to take part in the action, so jump into cash games, they're just always so soft. sure, the venetian is good too...but there's gotta be more random fish and whatnot at the rio during the wsop

  9. Go to the WSOP website they hve rooms available with WSOP promo codes. You can get a room for about 40 bucks a nite in some places and get a free shuttle to all Harrahs properties. I will be there last week of Jun and 1st week of July

  12. that 2/5 cash game is uncapped and it is nuts. dont be shocked to see some hi rolling business men lay about 10 grand on table. Played in game during circuit and the game was basically 2/5/50. You didnt see a flop for less than 50.00.

  13. Honestly the Rio is a POS hotel compared to most others HOWEVER it is very convenient to have a room to go to during breaks, dinner, etc. Last year was my first WSOP and I had the same reluctance to stay at the Rio, however I was glad that I did for the reason above. I'll be going back to WSOP again this year and I already booked my 5 nights at the Rio, which to my surprise they comped in full, which was a nice bonus.

Aria will be good to stay and to play. def catch the shuttle at Paris or Harrah's. Do not walk in 120 degree heat, it's absurd.
