I have been really bummed not being able to play online since Black Fri. I've been in Tampa for a little bit working on a project so I went by the Hard Rock to check out their poker room. About 2-3 years ago I was there and the room was just "ok" with maybe 6-10 tables going the few times I played. Last night there had to be 50+ full tables and stacks of people waiting with a decent variety of limits and games. Not sure how it has been in other card rooms but the action at the HR looks like it's exploded with the fall of Internet poker...

iCON is correct. Florida gaming laws changed to allow more than $100.00 max buyin for cash games. Since then, poker rooms have been able to effectively offer poker players the games they want to play with appropriate buyins for all levels. The 25/50 game at the Hollywood, FL Hard Rock goes off on a regular basis now.
I wish they would have changed the gaming laws in Florida before I moved to Virginia in April of 2009, because I never would have moved. The action is very good down there, and the level of play is generally bad. That said, I'm assuming some of the poker rooms down there are experiencing the attendance of more professional grinders since Black Friday 2011. Even so, the game is delicious if you are a well rounded and thinking player.
