See Where You Rank in Virginia

Need some feedback on which series is better. I will take a small roll to vegas next month around 2-3k and need to win my way up into wsop. I will either play the 125's at the nugget or 150's at binions. Will also throw in some 1-2 cash. Any ideas and suggestions greatly appreciated.

  2. Skip both and play the Venetian Deepstack events. They are better in every aspect. You should also def play cash at the Venetian, that place is the nuts. If you can't afford the venetian events, then I'm sure either of those series will be fine. Players are weak everywhere, won't be any different at either of these casinos.

You are right as last year I played 2 of the 500 events and got http://www.cardplayer.com/poker-play...6291-aaron-won ( 13th )

The other one I punted my stack trying to bluff a chic that just moved to our table. Anyway the venetian deepstack is a good series but with only 2-3k this year I figure I need to try and bink one of the smaller series tournies to build a decent roll for the 340's and 550's. Thanks for your input.

  4. The Golden Nugget structure looks much better to me. You should check out the Venetian Deep Stack Series as well. They have 1 or 2 $340 buy-ins every week which should have much larger fields than the GN or Binion's MTTs. Last year 1st was usually over $50k in the $340s. Also, the Rio will be running a daily $235 DeepStack starting at 2pm which should have a decent field as well. I'll be playing a lot of these during June. Here's a calendar showing all the Series Events in Vegas during June. Good luck!

+1..Do you think there will be more runners for the RIO $235 deepstack at 2pm compared to the Golden Nugget?

  9. Based on last years results, I would say the RIO Deepstack will have a lot more runners than the Nugget. Last year the RIO ran some daily deepstack $200 tourneys that got up to 700 runners, while the Golden Nugget tourneys usually got between 100-200 runners.

I went on wsop.com..What is the stack size and the blinds for this rio deepstack @ 2 pm? I wanted to play golden nugget because of the structure but 100-200 runners is nothing...I have 4 free nights at Harrahs in Middle of June...

  13. Last year it was 30 min blinds with 15k starting stacks. Normally would get 350-400 during week and 5-6 on weekends. Unless they changed things from last year the 2pm tourney was 200

  14. I don't remember exactly but I played the first day they started offering the noon deepstack at the rio because of all the players going to the venetian and caesars for the deepstack games. fwiw I got like 20th for a min cash, but lots of bad players in these.

  15. Good info guys, thanks. The Rio 235's were the shit last year. Lots of donks including me. Big rake, but tourists and huge prize pools. It's tough to skip these. However, the downtown trny's seem tempting. Venetian was cool last year. I don't like the perfume smell of the air. Caesars looks great. This calendar is awesome. I am super excited for the trip and playing some live pokah.

  16. Ill be back playing some of the downtown series again this yr. FT both Nugget tourneys I played so gonna play those again and pick up where I left off last June. The weeknd $125 got ~300 people and was a great structure.

Binions was getting 150-200 players pretty consistently last year for the first 2 weeks or so, then numbers steadily fell. Im thinkin because as more and more people heard about and then played the Rio 2pms instead. Rio had some huge tournouts and subsequent big payouts esp. for a $200 last year.

Obv, Venetian DSE is the best lowish buyins in Vegas but if your only bring like 2k you dont want to drop 1/6 of your roll on one tourney. Grind some smaller ones and work up to a WSOP buyin like I am going to do. Cash is always good at the V tho

Caesars has an awful structure but I heard the play was super soft so maybe some value there, but for the same amount you get almost the same amount of chips and a lot more play at the Nuggests Grand Series

If this is true I will def play the 2pm daily's at rio over Golden Nuggett..Thanks for everyone responding...and by the way I have never really liked structures at caesars...

When you guys played the daily tournies @ RIO last year did you guys see any big name poker pros?
