Does the heart HLPT have good structure, I cant seem to find them on there page for the upcoming events in St.Louis, MO
-
didn't they improve the structure recently? at least for the main
-
I wish they would have regular events instead of 2 Weeks of sattys and then a main.
-
Ill be playing in Event 1 and Event 2. I never played in the HPT but it will be a good warm up for WSOP circuit that comes to STL in APril. Here is the Schedule for the HPT

the structure used to be really horrible but it looks like they've improved it somewhat by increasing the size of the starting stacks, adding in a couple missing levels and increasing the length of the rounds as the tournament progresses.
It's still not perfect, as there still are some missing levels but its much better than it was. -

Event #1 (3/2) $230 and $15000 starting stack. Looks pretty good IM -
Hopefully there will be a nice turnout. I Heard Phil Hellmuth might be in attendance.
-
Maybe Howard, furst, and ferg will be there so we may hit them in nuts with a bat.
-
I wouldn't mind getting a few Swings
-
I really hope PH isn't there. It would increase turnout tho.

The structure for the main event was beyond awful but the changes should help. Got deep once and with the last 2 tables everything was shove or fold because the blinds were so big. Once they made tv (I just missed it) they rolled them back. Before the time frame was awful too. Less than 8 hours between end of day 1 and day 2. Looks like they have stretched that some in a few of their upcoming events. In St.Louis the Day1C and Day2 will likely be about 8 hours between the two.
By the way, they totally screwed up the flights in the one I played. One group played one less level on day 1. It took well over an hour to get it straight and played and get everyone back.
They run satellites for the main event all week and the structure is actually very good for a satelitte. They both used the same structure and level lengths but the satelitte would end before the blinds got too large. -
I played in a super satty for the main event last spring in chicago and that structure was horrible. It was fine early but toward the bubble the big stack at our table was 15bbs and most ppl were between 2-6bbs. About 3/4 of the players were lol bad. One guy was sitting at our table and writing down every bad beat he took.
-
That is how it is supposed to work. Satellites never end until people end up almost blinding out. I don't care what structure you have people will wait all day in those. If everyone is deep stacked around the bubble it will just go on until everyone ends up short stacked. No one will bust because there is no incentive to get a big stack.

So they are actually having events now instead of sattys into the main
-
They having 4 events and the main, Looks like good structure, i can prop only play in Events 1 and 2
-
Not really...there's 4 small prelims.
-
Are they paying cash out tickets
-
Is there any way of knowing past results for these "preliminary" events? I'd hate to drive all the way to STL and show up to a 2 table donkament.
-
I can't find any results of preliminary events. I think this might be the first time HPT had them. I think for event 1 there will be at least 200
-
yeah i jus looked at the structure, gets a bit turbo-ish in the middle..oh well playin anyway thanx fellas..gl gl
-
I will be at one of the events in April. I will either go to the one in blackhawk, CO or the one outside of Minneapolis. That is my bday weekend so that one might be more likely. If the tourney sucks at least the cash games should be decent.

You Down with HPT..Yeah you Know ME!!!!!!
-
I just got 3rd in event #1 230$ buyin. had 305 entries got 5948. not bad but choked at the end
-
well done..i was on ur right at table 30 in event #2...A5 VS 99...LOL how did you do in that event
-
got like 38th or something just outside the money. flipped for 100 bbs at 1500-3000 with ak vs QQ and lost lol
-
I came in about 55th in Event 1, I lost a 100k pot when i was a 77% favorite to win. I had pocket 7's in the BB, blinds were 1500/3000 400 ante. a player 3rd to act doubles the bigblind with 96 of hearts, I call the min raise and the flop comes 456 rainbow with one heart, I check and he bet around 8k, i make it 20k and he shoves all-in, about another 25k, i call immediately, Turn comes a blank and he rivers a 9. It was a bummer, but that is poker, At least i got my money in good. Overall it was a good Tourney.

wow you were gambling!! but hey if you hit one of ur cards, ur final tabling for sure
