Hey guys,
I've finally built up a few poker contacts in my area and am looking to host the odd home game.
General consensus is that we'll be playing $5 or $10 buck rebuys.
We will look to have rebuys for the first hour and will be looking at playing for approx 3 - 5 hours to find a winner.
Given we'll be starting with about 6 players, does anyone have any good blind structures or advice on running a smooth game?
I'm looking at running two decks (diff colours obv) to get through more hands, but any other tips would be awesome.
Cheers in advance!

i'd prolly make it 10k starting chips with the blinds starting at 25/50 and 15-20 min levels. dont know if its availibe in ur country but there is an awesome "pokerstars clock"free iphone app which has preprogrammed settings for a fast middle and slow tourney. it's really really great. if it's not availible maybe u can find that software for windows or run some kind of emulator. dont know if it works but if ur going to do these homegames regulary u should try.

considering this is a rebuy, i would probably have starting stacks somewhere around 5k, with blinds at 25/50
i play in a $25 rebuy with usually about 16 people and it last about 5 hours -

5k starting stacks, unlimited rebuys first hour. Single or Double rebuy with a double add-on at end of rebuy period (rebuys 5k each)
20min levels first hour (rebuy period) then 30 in levels. Unlimited single or double rebuys as long as stack not above starting (5k or less)
25/50, 50/100, 75/150 (end rebuy, single or double add-on allowed regardless of stack size)
100/200, 200/400, 300/600, 500/1000, 750/1500, 1000/2000, 1500/3000, 2500/5000
Thats 5 hours of levels.
What part of Melbourne you from Leeroy?

Thanks everyone.... just downloaded the app Red

Looks good and I was able to custom level it to something close to what C_Bomb came up with

We play a rebuy game locally every week with 12-18 players . 3k starting stacks can rebuy with 1k or less and an add on of 4k at the end of the first hour. First hour is 15min blinds after that goes to 20min . Blinds are close to Cbombs but with a 150/300 and a 400/800 added and no 750/1500. Usually last 4.5 to 5 hrs. If a player really runs or plays bad they might have 4 rebuys . Most will have 1 plus the add on. And of course some will have no rebuys but everyone takes the add on because of the extra value.

The first hour forces play (and rebuys) with blinds moving up quickly. After that the blinds slow a bit for the next couple of hours . When you get to the 1k-2k blind thats when things speed up again and usually ends around the 3k-6k level.
The thing to keep in mind with the rebuy game is you want to generate rebuys and build a nice pot. That is why we start out with a smaller stack and offer the extra on the add on. You can always make adjustments to suit your group.
