  1. I am playing a $2-$5 nl ring game.... I win a $1100 pot... How much do you tip the dealer? Curious
  2. $1.00 per pot if the dealer is good
  3. I've always been kind of put off by the fact that people tip more when they win a big pot. The dealer doesn't influence the cards or the action. If you make a good call or a good bluff what did the dealer have to do with that?

On the other hand, I understand winning a big pot and feeling generous so giving more. That makes sense to me.

Meh, I still usually throw an extra couple bucks when I win a big pot. Oh well. I try my best to tip based on how good the dealer is and not on how large the pot is

  4. yeah, depends on the quality of the dealer. but if he/she has been particularly good/fast/nice...then when i win a big pot I will throw extra. Probably $5 on a $1000 pot for a really good dealer.

  5. 0
  6. I've always done
$0 for blinds or just a limper or 2
    $1 standard pot
    $2 med - large pot
$5 on a massive double up pot

unless I'm super stuck then $1 per hand

  7. players in my home game/club get tips sometimes 20 25 dollars on big pots.. which is obv absurd.

I tip 1 to 2 dollars per pot and if i take an absurdly long time to make a decision i will usually throw an extra buck but nothing tilts me more then the look of disgust i get when i ship a 1k+ pot and tip 2 bucks so I had to pull the dealer to the side one day and said "look i dont even have to tell u this but u know u are killing it here dealing and my biggest tip i can ever give u is not raising the ire of the other players just how absurd tipping more then a few bucks per hand really is..." last time he ever gave me a dirty look and always thanks me for my feable buck or 2 and makes every attempt to ship me pots neat and carefully.. i get the occasional dirty look from other players who got sucked out on me from my tip size but fuck that... dealers have a tough job no doubt but they make good fucking money at this club and i see easily 300 coming off the tables per night in tips.

another thing that pisses me off is when a dealer is playing for the night and not dealing and they start tipping out half pots in an attempt to get other players to start doing it... im sure that they settle up after but its absurd that they think people are so stupid that they dont realize the hustle they are doing.
  8. It also depends how hot the dealer is if there female obv.

  9. I play 1/2 NL and 2/5 NL, I tip anywhere from 2-5 on most pots. I don't tip any for collecting the blinds. I see players tipping 5-25 on big pots. I understand it's nice to be generous, but when I see them playing for 100k on TV I noticed they never tip more than 5 when they win a pot. So if i'm playing for peanuts it seems crazy to tip 5. Maybe I should tip quarters out of my pocket.
  10. I tip 1 dollar per pot won, unless just stealing blinds or limps. If I win big pot or double I throw $5. But I don't play live that often.

Gotta love Australia, haha. Instead you have to survive the horribly absurd rake and watch it all go right into their tray. At least in Brisbane they have those pull-out drawers.

I generally tip $1 per pot no matter the size and don't bother tipping extra ever unless it's a massive pot. Dealers pool tips here unfortunately so there's no reason to tip extra for a particularly good dealer, except for the gesture itself I guess.
  12. anyone an idea how much pius tipped?
