I need a game plan

    ok heres the deal. My friend called me today and invited me to go to turning stone with his girlfriend(10) and his girlfriend's friend (10).

    WE would be leaving on friday at 4 pm and arriving at around 9 pm friday night. I will be calling out my shitty 8 dollar an hour job at rite aid to do this both friday and saturday.

    I have a total of 550 dollars.

    Hotel cost $150 gas cost $70 food cost $30

    So that leaves me with a 300 dollar bankroll for the games.

    My first question is do i do it and why? Can i really go down there with only 300 dollars and even expect to make it even by the time i leave. Or will my bankroll be flushed away within the first hour and ill be sitting there broke as fuck looking like a loser?

    I really want to do this I just need some kind of game plan strategy. I need some ideas of how I manage 300 dollars at the live poker tables So I can last And give myself the best chance to end up winning.

    NOTE- We are just staying the night and than leaving by early saturday afternoon.

    I think this is one of those spots where you are maybe flipping but winning is more +EV than losing is -EV.
    So sit down at a 1/2 table, triple your buy-in and show her what a high roller you are. If you go busto, accept defeat and youre back where you started.

    Play tourneys, they take forever so u will not be a loser if u still have 1 ante left in that tourney. And lets be honest, there's nothing more gangsta than sitting at a FT and taking old people's chips.

    Hey man,

    I actually play at TS fairly regularly. If your'e going on a weekend, there will be some pretty fishy players at 1/2. I usually play super-tight and just raise 6x when I pick up strong hands, but there's alot of different strategies you could use against these guys. They range from tight old nits who call u down with the second nuts worried u have the nuts to calling stations left and right. As far as managing your money though, I'd recommend buying in for 100, that way you have 3 buyins for the game ( which should be plenty if you play well and don't run terrible) that way if you lose, you have 2 more 100 dollar shots as opposed to 1 more 100 dollar shot. You'll probably be able to play your'e game more too. If you lose the 200, you need to win twice as much to break even which might effect the way you play. Alot less luck IMO with 3 equal buyins than the 200.

    Play 1/2 with $150. Play tight and aggressive and plan to rebuy if you go broke and are in a good game. Definitely do some good table selecting if that's possible

    Go to the casino, spend the $300 on blow, screw both of the girls while your friend grinds 1-2. Otherwise I agree with the people who said play 3-6 limit or a cheap tourney.

    If they're both tens forget about not going. You only live once what's $500 really. If your concerned about loosing all your money off the bat and looking like a looser the rest of the weekend just buy into a tourney play tight as hell (you'll be able to stay in for hours) and don't miss your opportunity to get it in with her friend. You can grind poker anytime with your buddies focus on what's really important

    Your only there for a short time and if your trying to get with a girl at the same time, id say your probably not gonna have much time to sit and grind. With that being said, you should play 1/2 buy in for 150, this way you have some extra money in case you bust.

    Im confused by this thread.... are you trying to grind a 500$ bankroll or get with the girl thats a ten?

    If you are after the girl... forget poker all together and just spend some time with her... you are not going to impress a girl by playing poker I will tell you that right now.

    all i heard was 10 hrs travelling for <20hrs of under-rolled-shenanigans
    if shes keen to actually go somewhere with you stay local take her to dinner, pee in her butt, and go to work on saturday to show her how responsible you can be
    worst case senario you pee in a 10's butt
    best case senario your dating a 10
