See Where You Rank in Virginia

  1. Live tourney 20 buy in 3000 chips
unlimited rebuy until break at 1 hr 20 min

    After break blinds 1000/500

8 people at table get dealt JJ middle position

    villian 1 25000
    villian 2 20000

    table avg. 10000

    utg+1 raise 4000
    middle postion calls
    hero cutoff shoves 16000

Villians are unknown moved to table after break

My range for villian 1 77-AA AK AQ AJ A10 suited

Villian 2 1010-AA AK AQ but its a call fest so I thought a lot of suited connectors could be involved here along with AJ or A 10

I shove 16000 and go home when

    Villian 1 QQ
    villian 2 KK
    hero JJ

Thoughts on my ranges, please? Other than I can't spell villian

  2. Cooler. You have 16BB left, just jam it in.

  3. table dynamics might dictate a fold but doubtful..

I jam all day here, just a cooler. You would need some sort of sickening read to fold JJ here w/ 16 bigs.

  6. I read that. It's doesn't make sense.

    1) If it's after break, the "unlimited rebuy until break at 1 hr 20 min" is completely extraneous and makes it confusing.
    2) "After break blinds 1000/500" could mean "After the break, blinds will be 500/1000" or "It's after the break and blinds are 500/1000".
    3) Opening to 4k means nothing since people live will 8x for no reason, so i'm not even sure if the blinds are 500/1000.

If it's after break @500/1000, you're way ahead of villain 1's range. You're barely ahead of villain 2's range if it includes TT+,AQ+. If you think it can included suited connectors, you're crushing it. If you do indeed have 16bbs, I can't imagine folding in this spot.

    I just wouldn't fold JJ with 16bbs.

Yea I agree, definitely some confusion in his post but I'm guessing this is after the break and rebuy period with blinds at 500/1000. Also, can't imagine there is no ante at this point if I'm correct by assuming they are at 500/1000 .

Sorry for the confusion. It's 500/1000 after the break. No antes.

I agree that 16bb is a shove. I was more wondering what you usually see at the tables.
This Tourney 3x was a standard raise, and I would say a preflop raise would happen less than 20% of the hands. The rest was open limp.

Thinking about it I think V1's 4x raise should have stood out and he would be 1010-AA with Ak,AQ, and maybe AJ
V2 I think his range is looser and I am crushing him because in that tourney most of the players are splashing around wihout proper odds. But he was just moved to my table so IDK.

Are these table dynamics usual for your casino?

  9. definitely a lame way to get eliminated..

x10 cause it's pretty clear you knew there was viable options other then "I have jacks with 16bb so I'm all in"

but I wouldn't analyze this hand anymore then you already have..

just play in the same exact tournament a few more times, and if you spend any of your winnings before leaving the casino make sure it's on anything but -EV gambling

don't think too much when none of your opponents are thinking at all!
