First two streets don't rly matter but i had bet every street w my oesd. Bet river he mucks, I flip my cards to show bluff and a queen comes off the top of my card. I have no clue if it had stuck there the whole time or someone else mucked it. What's the ruling??

I'm pretty sure it's your responsiblity to tell the dealer of the misdeal at the beginning of the hand if you're aware of one. You need to figure out where the q came from, if it was a large pot & you cant get ruling between the table, floor or manager to figure it out hopefully theres cameras? If q came from the muck it's a non issue, if you unknowingly played 3 card hand it sucks that cards stuck together but I think your hand's dead unfortunately. That's the casino answer I've seen before anyway. If it happened to me at a home game I'd probably lobby for a split pot (1 time) if I made an honest mistake or allow an honest friend the same, but in a casino I'd expect to lose the pot. If they allowed it it'd create the opportunity to get dealers to hook up with an extra card & pay them on the side & pineapple it lol! I have no idea about bar games.

It wasn't a huge pot but about 50bb so decent size. The guy who runs the game ruled I won since he mucked before I showed but I think u r right and I should have lost. It def was an honest mistake, but yea as far as for future reference.

the problem here...is that he can't win the pot, since he already folded...so your hand is pretty irrelevant at this point. u def win the pot

this situation would be a lot more interesting if this was showdown and he bet the river and you called, and he said 'you got it' and mucked...and THEN you turned over your hand and it had the incorrect number of cards. because then i'd have 0 clue what to rule...he has no hand, and can't win the pot at showdown without a hand...but you have a dead hand since it's incorrect...i think i would have to rule in favor of him (esp cause it's cash game) if this was a tournament i'd honestly have 0 clue what to rule

im not sure the ruling but i cant imagine the pot would be his... he had three cards, the reason the other guy mucked could have been b.c the guy had a hand he should not have had... like u said i really dont know the correct ruling but i have a hard time believing they would ship the pot to a guy playing 3 hole cards

yes your hand should be killed once anyone realizes you have three cards
yes his hand should be killed once he folds
his hand was killed before yours, you win -
I had this happen at a table not too long ago and it was ruled that the hand of the player with three cards was dead at the very start of the hand and the last live hand won the pot... Not sure if that is the "official" rule, but thats the way it went down at my local poker room.

Another reason why you should just muck your cards after the other player has surrendered his hand. You avoid having to discover and explain unknown problems.
Since you never had a valid hand, the floor ruling should settle the issue. It's doubtful the bar has cameras to record the games.
At worst, split the pot and give money back since you did not have a valid poker hand.
