hi guys, long time member first time i've started a thread, i've got some questions about what might be the best strategy for a strange live tournament with 2 qualifying sessions and a final championship session, (see attached link for tournament details.)
anythought about how to approach this would be great
thanks
Ok, so this tournament is in 3 weeks, I'm trying to come up with what would be a good strategy for the late stages of the qualifiying sessions
there expecting about 11 to 14 levels of play in the qualifying sessions (see structure sheet on website link) with starting stacks of 10k, with 80 entrants each session......my main concern is with Harrington's "M" theory of zones, in the late stages of the qualifying session you could have an stack of 30k (26 people left 800k chips in play) but only an "M" value of less then 5 (which means your shoving ranch must open up) but, the real kicker is if you survive a couple more levels or orbits than same 30k Stack on the championship starting level might be an "M" factor of like 35 which is lots of play.....
so that senario where the levels roll back to an earlier level how should i play?
I'm thinking if i have a monster chip stack, I'm going to raise 80 percent of my hands, knowing people are going to fold (to get into the championship level) and those BB/SB/antes are going to be so valuable withing a 30 to 60 mins of play (ie start of championship session) for instance
level 11 blinds/antes are worth 11.5k or a possible "m" of 3.X
Level 1 of championship that same 11.5k might be worth an "M" 13.3...
so what the optimal strategy at this point of the tournament is I have no clue, i've got tons of experience playing tournaments, but i've never played a tournament with roll backs
just wonderign what you guys think?
