I never liked the November 9, should just play through.
-
November nine was bad for the viewers due to the wait, but great for the players and poker as it made a huge spectacle and brought a lot of media from around the world. Im sure they can still accomplish the same great event within the week though! Just a bit less hype and fame for the players.

Ya'll know why don't you? Live poker on ESPN. If they broadcasting live that eliminates the biggest reason that they had the November nine. Pure speculation but I think they're just gonna broadcast the whole thing live and do away with the edited versions.
-
just my opinion, but I think they will keep the live format as well as the taped versions. I think there is an audience for both.
-
+1 for playing straight through...

Here's our PocketFives article on the WSOP losing the November 9:

It'll be interesting to see what - if anything - they replace it with. I also can see the entire WSOP Main Event broadcast starting with Day 3 or 4 going to a live format at some point. It was apparently a hit. -
I personally like the move. I can understand that you need some delay so that the players can organise to get some fans and family to turn up, which means getting time off work and even dumping kids off somewhere. But it annoys me that I have to wait and if I was ever fortunate enough to make it to the final table, I don't think others should get too much of a chance to analyse my play from tapes of the very tournament I'm currently playing in.

Glad November 9 is gone I didn't like it at all. The tournament should be played straight through just like any other tournament that you play. I also didn't like the coverage this year because it was much to slow and boring. ESPN just show me the exciting hands and nothing more. I really don't want to sit there and watch someone take 15 minutes to make a decision on the river.

One more important note relating to the WSOP Main Event: as is now customary, the delayed final table shall return but will be contested one week earlier than in previous years. With the U.S. Presidential Election slated for the first Tuesday in November, the WSOP Main Event final table will be held in two stages, from nine players playing down to two on Sunday, October 28th, with heads up play on Tuesday, October 30th. Once again, the Penn & Teller Theater at the Rio will host the finale, in front of an anticipated live television audience on ESPN and ESPN2.
