  1. When Online Poker was going big in the US I played a ton of Micro Stakes SNGs and Tourneys, and built up a nice bankroll for micro stakes standards, and really enjoyed it.

Well when it all went to hell, and Full Tilt took my small bankroll with them, I more or less stopped playing.

This weekend I was in Vegas on business, and saw that the Casino I was staying at had a 60 dollar buy in NL tournament every evening, so I signed up just for fun.

I cashed, and if not for a bad beat mid way through I would have finished first or second I think. But I found Playing Live, while different, was a lot of fun. The players at the table were a mix of local people, and tourists. There were a total of 58 people that signed up, and you could re buy for the first hour. Blinds went up every 20 minutes. Blinds started out at 50-25 and you were given 5000 chips to start

I basically played it like a micro tournament, super tight till the antes kicked in, and just waited for a hand, because it seemed everyone there just could not wait to bet. I doubled up when I raised with KK, was called, Flop was 6 K A I bet half the Pot, was re raised, so I pushed...was called with a A 3. That set me up to run deep.

But I found that trying to keep track of chip stacks, amount in the pot, etc was very difficult for me...lol. But all in all I had a great time, and intend to play again when I get the chance.
  2. Nice report, first live tourney is always a different experience when your used to online. Congrats on the cash.

  4. live is an awesome experience because its 3x more social then online.i also love the feeling of having a tower of chips
  5. Yeah, I love live tournaments especially in Vegas. You get a chance to talk to a bunch of people and you can usually find out rather easy who the good players are and who is there because they saw it on TV once. The $45-$80 buyin range are nice at these casinos because it is a small risk but you can sometimes walk away with over $1000 because the players are bad for the most part.

From my experience also if you are nice and talk a lot people will play softer against you also. I have had people tell me what they had when I was deciding on a call or not.
