  1. Well my negative variance came to an end on Sunday. Yes I can say I am happy about it, I walked away with $10. profit yesterday. I started out playing a small tourney, only 8 people entered, at $40. per entry. Anyway there was a loose calling station that was hitting everything. If I had a pair he would have 2 pair. If I had a pocket pair, he would hit the higher pair. Thats what happened when i exited the tourny. I called with my low stack, with my pocket 8s, and I got called with JQ. Of course he hit his J, and I new it even before the flop. I was eliminated in 4th place. With only 2 places being paid I had to go for the gold with that hand, but ended up watching from the rail. Anyway the 3rd player out, went out with over cards, to another J. It was down to 2 players, The lucky calling station had 90% of all the chips, so again the player ended up losing to JJ. This guy was running so hot that during the break he won $700. playing the slot machines.

So I bought into a cash game, and played about 1 1/2 hours. I ran into a interesting hand against the big stack. I was dealt 10,J and the flop came K,10, 2. I wasn't to sure if he had a king or not so I raised, to gather some information. He called me. Okay the dealer burnt the card and it so happened that the next card was face up. We are looking at a Jack. The dealer called the pit boss over for instructions. While the instructions were being given the villan said to me thats the card I need for my out. I just looked at him and said "you too, thats what I wanted." The dealers instructions were to put the Jack in the deck with the burn card and re-suffle all the remainder of the cards. That was done and now we were set for the turn again. And the turn was a "Jack" again." WOW " I thought that is a destined card, that Jack was ment to be, just like all the Jacks previously in the tourny it was ment to win. So I raised $40 into a $40 pot. The villan I believe called, because only he had said that is the card he wanted. It was checked back to me and I raised again and was called. When I flipped over my J,10 to show 2 pair, the villan mucked his cards. Either he had a pair of Kings or was on a straight draw.

Anyways I played a few more hands, and was happy to leave with my $10, profit. Usually I would of stayed longer but it felt so good after being on a losing skid to actually walk away, a winner for the day
  2. Congrats man, a wins a win which is more than i can say for me, im running and playing like shit.
  3. Strange call to resuffle the deck. I've never had that happen but is that really the correct rule?
  4. I am running bad online. My AA always get cracked and my KK and if I hit a str8 or flush my opp always has a boat.
  5. When I play good cards, rags come out.
When I change it up and play rags, the flop is AKK.
    LOL
  6. Its funny how when you've been on an extended losing streak even a small win can feel really good. Even a ten dollar win can turn into a real confidence booster and get you back on track.
  7. pretty risky to raise twice after he said he needed that jack. you're pretty lucky he was fibbing. what if he hadn't fibbed? then you would be ever so sad. do you fib at the tables too? i think that is a very mean thing to do and is dishonest also.

Yep it's correct. It's a different situation than when a dealer deals an up card preflop and assigns it as the burn. In this situation there has already been betting action, money is in the pot, and leaving the exposed card as the burn can unfairly influence action. So the exposed card is shuffled back into the remaining deck and the top card after the shuffle becomes the burn. It's standard, but in the few times I've seen this the Floor has always been notified and is the one who orders the re-shuffle.
