  1. Playin a small charity tourney in Michigan last night. 30k starting stack with 30/15 min blinds. Pretty poor structure but w/e

4 left with ~1.5mil total chips in play. 20k, 40k blinds just started. payouts are $50/$120/$220/$440 (rather large stakes i know lol)

    UTG (95,000) all in
    BUT (~470,000) all in
    SB ( 110,000) folds
    me BB (~900, 000) Ad9d ?????

Not worried about UTG as hes shoving everything, but when the older kinda solid/tight player moves in it gives me some concern. This player would take flops and play some pre flop but pretty much check fold if missed of just checked call if drawing, rather obvious. I feel when he moves in is def a pretty strong hand (this netbook blows and doesnt have any poker tools on it so cant do #'s). I have been playing pretty aggro and winning most pots with little resistance, which is why i wasnt sure if i should "gamble here" with only A9. If i win the hand tho I win the tourney, but losing the hand puts me in a tougher spot to win by doubleing the other solid stack

    any thoughts appreciated.
  2. So you put him on some sort of pair or big A ? Thats what I would be thinking of a tight player in these charity type games. Im thinking at best you have one over card and could easily be dominated. Im not doubling up the number two stack. Let them go at it.
If he wins then you probably get heads up against a tight player for an easy win. If he loses then you have a bigger chip lead on the field. Fold.
