I recently moved and wanted to try out the card room that's about 15 minutes from my new place. The first time I went it took about 45 minutes to be seated. That's because some more people came in and we created a new table.
The second time I went was on a Thursday night and I called in advance to put my name on the wait list to make my wait as short as possible. I got to the card room 45 minutes later and still had to wait. The games that were going on were 2 limit tables, NL and PLO. I waited for another hour and a half until I just left.
Now, I'm not trying to bash the place because it does seem like a cool place. It's small with about 8 or 10 poker tables.
I just want to know if it's normal to wait 2 hours for a poker table. It seems as though they are spreading themselves short with all the different games. Any advice would be great. Thanks. -
My experience has been getting seated immediately or at most a 5-10 minute wait, but this was at a slightly larger cardroom.

If you plan on playing there often, throw the floor staff a bone ($5) when you come in. They will remember you after a few times and you will be seated quicker.
