no Phil Ivey?
-
No Ivey yet.
My pick is Dan Shak. Earlier this year, he finished in the LAPC High Roller and PCA Super High Roller for nearly $1 million combined. He won the Aussie Millions $100K Challenge for $1.1M in 2010 after taking fourth in the same event the year before. He's pretty good at High Roller events like the One Drop. -
Why'd they cap it? I'm thinkin Ivey, can't imagine him skipping it and it's enough $ and prestige to motivate him IMO.
-
whats the other ceasers entertainment seat that isnt a satelite?
-
What will the payouts be, like top 8? How much for 1st?
-
Sam Trickett would OWN these clowns, this guy can see the shit from the trees!!
-
I'm guessing they capped it at a number they knew/hoped they could get so people would pre register and be committed instead of waiting for people to walk up with a Million dollars the day of the tourney. Its gonna take the late register option out. so they get players to commit and give the players a sense of urgency. Without the cap. They would probably be sitting at 15 players pre registered right now hoping for a turnout. While players talked about weather or not the were gonna show. The cap locks it in. I think its brilliant.

My Guess Boosted J or Andy Beal wins -
do you think they will increase the cap if they get the numbers and another table of players want to register?
-
I saw that they would not raise the cap, but that was said as they were trying to get people to pre register. With a tourney of this magnitude i doubt they will change anything with 40 million dollars already committed. Don't see how you can change it without giving players who registered under past pretenses a chance to pull out. So i doubt it
-
Pretty sure I read that some participants have chose to remain anonymous until Day 1 of the tourny. From what I have seen, Phil is not a big fan of his celebrity status anyway and would rather not deal with all the questions. Not to say I know whether he is playing or not because I have no idea, but I wouldn't rule it out until the tourny starts. Just my 2 cents.

Edited By: dslugger Jun 9th, 2012 at 07:38 AMDo you think they would be willing to turn away players, the tournament is for charity. Each player turned away is $111,111 less that the one drop foundation receives.Originally Posted by pimpnuho

Oh and Trickett all day.
Reason: Forgot pick -
Negreanu, he'll destroy the non pro's at the tables and that'll put him in an amazing position to take it all.
-
Marchese
-
seidel wins all high roller tourneys last year i like his chances
-
I would have to go with Mercier but I hope John Morgan wins. He's a good guy and I've played with him a lot locally. Canterbury Park in the twin cities is having a 100k guarantee tourney in October and the buy in is only $130 and they are capping it at 750 people, so there is a 25k overlay no matter what. John said if he cashes in the One Drop tourney he is donating 10% of his cash to the prize pool of this tourney, potentially making it a $1.6 million prize pool in a $130 tourney. Even if he min cashes for 2 mil it would be a 300k prize pool.
Go John Morgan!!
