It seems harder and harder to review and work on my game now that I'm playing live. Reviewing hand histories quickly and easily, and even sharing them with friends mentors, is one of the biggest luxuries of online that I took for granted before black friday. This weekend there was a rather large plo cash pot that I would love to be able to review "out of the moment" but villains hands are a bit foggy. Anyone have any habits\suggestions they want to share? is a good old fashioned notebook the answer? I'd love to find an iphone app that would let me quickly enter hands to save for later.

I knew a guy who would talk into a tape recorder to himself about key hands and players...an iphone makes that easy.

It take time to review and analyze after but what Gus did at the Aussie Millions seems to be the best way to review. Adding your personal thoughts right after the hands is so great to make deep analysis and change what needs to be changed.
I red it twice, just amazing, I recommend to everyone that is trying to ameliorate their live game.

that's one of my favorite poker books actually, good call. I had forgotten you could use the iPhone as a voice recorder. I do worry that marks me as "not a fish" immediately, but how long can you hold that image anyway? anyone else please feel free to add!

Def one of mine too !! With the Iphone voice recorder, it become even easier now !!! (I forgot this as well..)
-
how about just remember it. I guess PLO isnt as easy as NLHE. I know i can remember what i do because i am thinking about it as i do it. I get input as soon as i can from poker buddies.
-
yea thats what i was trying to do originally but with the all in 4 handed thats 21 cards plus the action... i just couldnt make it happen. I vaguely remember but not enough to run any numbers. it really is much easier in holdem
-
Boy an app for this would be great. I have the same issues
-
well i think it's good that you think.

well if your brain can remember the details of a hand, just jot it down in the notes section of your phone after the hand takes place if you are questioning it at all and then ask a fellow player later on when you have a few hands put together.

I'm sure someone would be

Well thats easier sed than done, especially if i am playing 60 hrs a week of live NL cash, i do think putting it in the notes section of my fone cud be a good idea, mayb to try to replicate note taking similar to when playing online in a language i myself will undertsand, e.g s2 3b w 4s5s...(seat 2 three bet with 4,5 of spades).....try and keep it as short as possible...probly wud get easier ta do with time, its something i definetly have to do cus reviewing hands is so vital to maintaining your game....
-
I think if u cud do something that wud be quick and easy ta use then you could be on to a winner,if i myself found a good app on the market that was quick and easy ta use id happily buy it in the morning......Its something me alot of live pro NL players wud be interested in.... -
ya it can def be a bit of a hassle if you play a lot but if you can remember the hand n quickly jot it down or get up from the table for a second after the hand n write it down with all relevant info like stack sizes n position etc, then it can be really useful for you b/c you can discuss it with friends at a later date.

i typically usually only play HU so its easy for me to remember most of the key hands with detail. omaha i just whip my phone out and write hand histories down in the notepad sometimes. who cares what people think when they see you taking notes, just shows youre doing something theyre not... trying to improve your game
