There are no hole cards on the espn3 coverage. They will be showing hole cards on the live tv coverage later tonight.

Ben Lamb at secondary table, should be fun.

i think the espn coverage will be a flop ... no pun inteded, eh eh lololol

Someone needs to clue in those interviewed (Jason Alexender etc.) that poker is a long run skill game that isn't easy to master. I am watching the coverage cringing when he's talking about the luck involved. Wonder if there's any congressmen watching that will be voting on the poker bills later :/
Agree, that beat Deeb took was brutal. LOL euros. -
This is almost unwatchable..Lon may be ok announcer when its prerecorded with a script but this is awful. Miss calls every hand WTF?
-
Agree 100% on your thoughts. Lots of references throughout to "luck," which is definitely not what poker needs when, as you said, Congressmen and their staffers might be tuned in. There was even a discussion of whether the Main Event was a "lottery."

In defense to the lottery comment, he said he didnt agree with that, and gave a counter argument with landmines. but agreed jason alexanders interview sounded terrible for poker, even if he was being comical

No doubt, man. Not only misses the hands almost everytime but now announces the wrong guy at risk, then we watch the other guy get up and walk out.
-
Agree, the coverage is a little slow. Cool as hell though to watch the hand play out and not know the hole cards then see them in the end (if the player showed the camera properly).
It seems like Lon might be better off letting Antonio talk a bit more and drive the hand by hand calling. Seems like they are sitting away from the table and watching on TVs which can't be easy at all. Props to both of them as again it can't be easy especially first time out!
It can only get better though and the new format beats the crap out of watching the elimination / set up hands and watching one hand then a commercial, etc.
My advice is to DVR the action if possible so you can zoom through the commercials, interviews etc! -
