These developments should shock nobody. When paradise poker and others closed up shop to American players a few years ago (publicly traded companies operating in an illegal market) the speculation was that the US based casinos were ultimately to blame. Now that the big 3 are excluded the path is clear not only for legislation to pass but the US casino companies to suddenly have the major presence. In true American Congressional fashion however rather than legalize online poker now, while the consensus is favorable, things will get dragged on and on until the climate changes back to unfavorable. We can only hope that the lobbyists hired by the industry and the voice of the PPA is louder now more than ever to get this thing done................NOW dammit!!!!!!

My thoughts exactly. But at this point, I don't care...if this goes through Harrah's etc...can have the whole market in the US -- as long as I get to play and not have to worry about my $$ getting tied up, I"m happy.
