2.
Not to be nitty, but the word "athelete" comes from Greek and means "one who competes for a prize".

Poker players atheletes? You decide.

 3.
Larson, I think your missing the real point of the article here. It isn't to decide whether poker players are athletes (who cares, you do not need to be in the shape to play professional poker as you do professional sports), but that there is no offtime in poker, you need to be on the ball from the time you approach the table, until you stand up to leave.

 4.
No, I get the point of the article and it was a great read. I was just tossing that out there, I dont really know why.

 5.
I made a post about this article.

 6.
its a game not a sport!

imo thats obv.

people who assume its a sport are just trying to feel better about playing it instead of going to the gym.

however, i do have to agree that it takes a lot of physical efforts to play in a 12 hour multi tble tournament...

 7.
game (noun) a competitive activity involving skill, chance or endurance ----hum... is this vocab trustworthy, graps? I mean, a game is not always a competitive activity, not at all. Sry, I am not english and this is no level: maybe that vocab is like the bible to you people and what do I know. I think I had same moment as larson's lol wtf forgive me people

 8.
Once again, great article. Played baseball for most of my life and honestly I noticed that I was doing that a while back, made an adjustment and feel like my game is improving because of it.
